Question: Twilight lovers/ HP haters!?

Why do you hate HP and love Twilight!? Please give in-depth answers!. I don't want "it's romantic and wonderful!" or "Because it sucks" I want specific reasons, please!. Especially about the HP thing!. And no "it's overrated!." Thank you!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I not only dislike, but I simply HATE the Potter books mainly because of the deleterious message they give to children and young adults!. I wrote an article in my school newsletter about this, about 800 words!. In fact, I want I could criticize those books on and on but I guess a short entry will be a good idea!.
The first thing that I CANNOT stand is plagiarism!. The Potter books have no original plot, no depth and they send no message to young readers!. Rowling has just borrowed the plot of other authors and combined all the fantasy elements into one disastrous book that started this whole so called "phenomenon" – the Sorcerer's Stone!.
She is nothing but a copy-cat!. She has stolen the idea of Eva Ibbotson's book The Secret of Platform 13!. The book (first published in 1994) features a gateway to a magical world located on an underground railway platform!. The protagonist belongs to the magical world but is raised in our world by a rich family who neglect him and treat him as a servant, while their fat and unpleasant biological son is pampered and spoiled!.
Another book is Jane Yolen's Wizard Hall!. The main protagonist, Henry (also called Thornmallow), is a young boy who joins a magical school for young wizards!. At the school "he must fulfill an ancient prophecy and help overthrow a powerful, evil wizard!." The plot is just that of the Sorcerer's Stone!. I am surprised why the hell didn't Miss Yolen sue JKR!.
In addition there is Urusla Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea (1968), in which a boy with unusual aptitude for magic is recognised, and sent to a special school for wizards, resembles that of Harry Potter!.
And of course there are Jill Murphy's The Worst Witch series!. According to me Potter is nothing but just a rip-off of the The Worst Witch series!. set in a school for girls, "Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches", remarkably reminiscent of Hogwarts The school is hosted in an ancient castle on a remote hill surrounded by a forest!. Classes include potions, chanting and broomstick flying!. Though the headmistress is kind and understanding, the hooknosed Potions mistress is harsh and unpleasant!. She is particularly cruel towards the protagonist, a young witch named Mildred Hubble - but Mildred's nemesis is her pet student, Ethel Hallow, who is a member of a prominent witch family!.
Come on, Rowling! How many books have you plagiarized in total!?
This means, that the HP books are certainly NOT original!. The idea of a magical boarding school had been used before the publication of HP!. Another thing that annoys the HECK out of me is Rowling's writing style!. I sometimes wonder why the hell did Bloomsbury even accept the Sorcerer's Stone for publication!. I think it is a complete insult to children's literature!.
Sorry, but I prefer the Twilight books over HP!. At least Twilight is ORIGIONAL and there is no plagiarism!. I agree that the idea of vampires has been used over and over again and SO has the idea of the wizards but Twilight is original even though if SM is not the world's most talented author!.
The Potter books are full of plot holes and cliches!. The same idea of Voldemort returning over and over again and the same idea of this scrawny boy defeating him and the Death Eaters!. JKR couldn't come up with any other idea!. The third book was the weakest of the series, in which JKR bought this insane prisoner into the plot!.
The books have no depth!.

I like Twilight more than Harry Potter because Twilight has a mystery to it!. I dislike Harry Potter because I read about 2 pages on the first HP book and I got completely bored out of my mind!. All the HP books are based on one thing and that only one thing, and that is a boy who is trying to kill Voldemort ( I don't know if I spelled that right, sorry) and it just keeps going and going and it's annoying!. A lot of people like HP books but you don't see Twilight fans bashing them all because they like a book!. On Y!Answers if someone asks a Twilight question people who dislike Twilight bash the person and tell them not to read it!. All because the people who like HP don't like Twilight it doesn't mean that you need to tell other people not to read it all because you have a different opinion on disliking it or liking it!. And all the people who like HP more than Twilight give the same excuse for every Twilight question!. We all know Twilight is very popular at the moment, and it does get annoying when there are Twilight fans saying " OMG EDWARD CULLEN IS SO HAWTT" you guys have to realize that not all Twilight fans aren't like that at all!. Well, I really loove Twilight!. It's great for your soul and it gives me hope for my soulmate!. Really, Twilight got me very much interested in other books!. Twilight actually inspired me to read Harry Potter!. I almost finished Sorcerers Stone!. But, I think the retards who say Harry Potter is better than Twilight and that it sucks, are being gay!. I first tried the Harry Potter series about!.!.!. well, in the second grade!. XD I should probably try it again!. Anyway, I read it after watching the movie!. Bad idea!. What bothered me the most was, that I knew something was going to happen, yet they had to explain it in three or four pages!. also, the whole plot just didn't appeal to me!. Wizards and witches and all that!.!.!. It just seemed boring!. However, I do love the movies!. So I'm not going to say that J!.K!. is a horrible writer, because if people can make movies that good, based upon books!.!.!. Then the books must be good!. I just don't have the patience for them

Now, to Twilight!.

I read Twilight because my friends forced me to!. It looked like a virus, that book!. One person would hate it, then two seconds later, that's all they would talk about!. I decided to read the first chapter at Barnes and Noble!. I ended up really liking it!. It was a pretty basic story!.!.!. A typical clumsy teenager, moving to a new town, making new friends, a mysterious boy!.!.!. It didn't seem like one of those super-fiction-magical books!. It still doesn't, to me!.

So, what I like about Twilight, is that it's obviously fiction!.!.!. But to me, it doesn't see, like it!. It doesn't scream "FICTION!", if you know what I mean!.

First off: NOTHING is 100% original anymore!. Almost all ideas have been done, used up!. What matters in a story is who can display those ideas in the most refreshing ways!.

You cannot apply that argument(of HP being unoriginal) and not look at Twilight's unoriginality!. Vampires have been done before!. Forbidden love!? Done!. Vegetarian Vampires!? Done!. Vampires with powers!? Done!. Vampires and Werewolves!? Done!. Human girl loves vampire!? Done!. Whiny first person girl narratives!? Done!. Done!. Done!. Meyer's took her "plots"(Quotes since I don't consider Romance to be a plot) from many other works!. Romeo and Juliet!. Pride and Prejudice!. So why shouldn't she be called out for plagiarism!? Because Shakespeare is dead and can't sue!? That's just illogical!. She made vampires sparkle!. That's all she did!. She took 500 years of mythology and threw it in the trash so her pretty boys could sparkle!.

Are you serious!? Twilight has as much depth as a piece of paper!. Harry Potter's writing style is intricate, and uses many literary techniques and devices!. It sends plenty of messages about the harmful effects of discrimination!.

What depth does Twilight have!? They "love" each other!. That's what this book proclaims!. No wrong can befoul Bella, all will be well for her no matter what!. That's what this book proclaims!. Girls need a man to control their every thought, their every action!. THAT'S what this book proclaims!.

And you dare talk about cliches in harry potter when trying to defend Twilight!? Tell me, are your cheeks as red as tomatoes!? Are you a beautiful girl who doesn't believe it, then the most handsome guy around falls in love with you!? Is your name BELLA SWAN, for christ's sake!? Wow!.!.!.I am a Twilight hater/HP lover myself, and the responses the Twi-hards give just amaze me!. I am embarrassed that kids my age consider Twilight the best book ever!. I'll keep reading the answers, just to see what the people think!.

I don't hate HP I just think that Twilight is much better

I loved Twilight, but I only think HP is okay!. I read them all, but in HP, it seemed like she didn't really want to write the last few books, and they became kind of drawn out and boring!. In Twilight, it feels like Meyer loves the characters as much as her readers do, making the books more fun to read!. That's my opinion!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
