Why do the Malfoys only have one son?

Question: Why do the Malfoys only have one son!?

I was thinking about the Malfoy family today and I am just wondering if anyone else thinks it's odd that Lucius and Narcissa only had one child!? It seems like most wizarding families have more than just one kid!. Plus, since they wanted a Pureblood race, I would think they would want to have many pureblood children to help the dying out race grow!. Any thoughts!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Perhaps they only wanted one child!. Narcissa and Lucius don't really seem like "kid-friendly" kind of people!. Or like someone else said, they wanted one heir to their fortune and Draco was enough!.

I really think that it's overthinking things to analyze this so much!.

Perhaps JKR just didn't feel like writing more characters into that family!? Or perhaps JKR chose to do it that way because kids are more likely to be spoiled if they are an only child with no siblings!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably because the Malfoys wanted only one heir to the fortune!. They had a boy and that was enough!. also I think they didnt have enough time for more children!. They barely gave any to Draco!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe the others were miscarriages!. Or maybe she couldn't get pregnant again!. Or maybe they were so disappointed in Draco that they couldn't bring themselves to take a chance on another kid that may have turned out worse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
