Question: What is the big deal with Twilight!?!!?
Almost every girl i know is obsessed with that book!. I read the first one it is stupid!. To think that a book with just two teens making out is a good book!? All they do is make out until the end where Bella gets kidnapped and after that they make out, It is stupid i dont see why people should read and!. and WTF the author made a stereo type out of vampires, they dont sparkle in the sun they BURN!, Karen Chance is a wonderful author and writes well about vampires yet she is looked down upon by the Twilight Books!. I dont think Twilight should even exist in Amerca!. Anyone with me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I admit I absolutely despise the sparkling fairy-vampires!. What on earth was Meyer thinking when she wrote that!?

But I did enjoy the series!. They aren't the best books ever!. Unfortunately, thousands of TwiFans seem to think so!. They aren't well written, and the book is simply the epitome of cliches!. On a positive note, they make a nice, easy, simple, read!.

The books are way overrated!. That's undeniable!. I can't wait till this fad dies down!. Answers just needs to purge itself of these Twilight questions!. I go to the classical section and the TwiFans, being just as smart as ever, are asking where to find the sheet music for Bella's Lullaby!. Newsflash, Bella's Lullaby is not classical, and it is simply nothing compared to Mozart!.

Just my two cents!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't be so narrow minded!. I don't think you really read the book because:
Making out is NOT all they do!.
Bella never got kidnapped!.!.!.where did you get that from!?

You don't see why people should read what!?
Whenever YOU write a book about vampires, you can make the vampire do whatever YOU want it to in the sun!. Alot of people seem to love the book, so much that they have a movie coming out, so just because you think it should not "exist" in American won't make it happen!. There is probably some person in each of the 37 countries it "exist" in complaining about the same thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like Twilight a lot!.
And God, they only seriously kiss like, 12 times in the entire first book!.
And when Stephanie Meyer talked about the vampires sparkling, she wasn't stereotyping that, she was going AGAINST stereotyping!.

I don't think you fully understand the meaning of the book, or even read it thoroughly!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

im not in favor of banning them, i think it would be pretty dumb to ban a book, it would sort of be taking a step back in time dont you think!? but i do agree that people have gone over the top about them!. ive never read karen chance, ill have to give it a shot!.
i think its sort of interesting that SM made vampires a little different than the way that everyone sees them as, it makes it more unique
haha, people are going to eat you alive for asking this, have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

while i don't agree with your opinion of the twilight saga, you need to understand that stephanie meyers style of writing deeply and profoundly affects her young, generally teenage audience!. her stories give them the hope they needed to believe that even the plainest, most clumsy girl can be considered beautiful and have a cute boyfriendWww@QuestionHome@Com

OMG!!! I know! I read the first one just to try to get into it!. Then I gave up on the series!. Umm, hello!? Vampires who thirst for our blood!. Havent there been thousads of those!? Two teens who fall into forbidden love (see above)!. Anyway, I am happy for people who like it, but i really dont like them!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're a guy!. You're not interested in that stuff!. *And it's not only making out, actually there is barely ANY making out*

And you are the first guy I've ever met that has read Twilight (liked it or not)!. Ha!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no way!. Twilight is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
and o ya, vampires do not burn in the sun! thats a sterotype too!! ho do you know huh!? do you know a vampire!?!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The writing is sub par, the characters lack development!.!. It's a sad book and I'm not sure what all the hubbub is about!. Maybe they all just think Edward is sexy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

HATER
just cuz you cant get into it doesn't mean America should ban the book!.
get over yourself
twilight is the ish and more people agree with me than they do youWww@QuestionHome@Com

They were good books but not exactly original!. The Anita Blake books are much better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

*raises hand in favour*

*on second thoughts, waves both hands frantically in favour and shouts in violent support*Www@QuestionHome@Com

A couple points:

A) The Twilight saga is for teens; Chance's books are for adults!. The same things aren't going to appeal to teenagers as to adults!. Teens tend to like simpler storylines like the Twilight series has!. And yeah, I agree that they're pretty dull and repetitious, but most haven't read enough other books to know that yet!. If you're a teen and you like Chance's series, maybe you read at a pretty high level for your age!.

B) You're a guy!. We like Chance's stuff better because it has a lot of action!. Girls go more for the romance angle!. Especially teenage girls!. And before anyone tells me I'm a bigot, who is buying Harlequins!? It ain't guys!. Chance's romance is more of the adult variety, without the "oh, my God, isn't he cute" highschool stuff!. So give it up!. Yes, Chance's books are better, but Twilight is always going to be more popular becaue more girls buy books than guys!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honestly, I like many other books better - it just applies to a greater audience!.

For one, it's pretty original in context!. Not the whole 'vampire-romance' thing and the 'oh-I-don't-want-to-hurt-you-I'm-dangero!.!.!. stereotype of a heroic love interest, but the ideas of the vampires!. They have some scientific explanation and make it feel real and almost believable!.

It also has the slight fantasy element that pulls in fans of YA fiction, but still retains enough real-life problems for ordinary teens to relate to (like the Mike/Tyler/general guy issue)!.

At the same time, it has some suspense!. Edward has very weak control at times, and the climax keeps people going!.

Along with all the other factors, I agree with many other people about these - Twilight is pretty generic as vampire novels go - only a couple well-developed and rounded characters (Edward and Bella were not the ones, if that's what you were thinking)!. It just happened to have that magic combination that equals a bestseller!.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the books - I finished Breaking Dawn at about 4 in the morning after it came out!. However, it wasn't Edward and Bella that kept me reading - it was Jacob!. He was the only truly complex character in my opinion!. He hated and loved Bella at the same time, enough to put up with people he hated more, not to mention, I love his personality ;]

And yeah, I like Karen Chance too, but you've got to admit there's still bit of making out in sex and those (though I strongly agree there's more action and infinitely more plot going on)!.

EDIT: I wholeheartedly agree with Amy's last comment - I see way too many people writing stuff like 'Mrs!. Edward Cullen' on their notebooks!. I really don't like Edward, and even if I did, he's a freaking FICTIONAL CHARACTER!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
