I enjoyed the book (and movie) of Sense & Sensibility, but Persuasion would have to be my all-time favourite Jane Austen!. The whole storyline revolving around the unresolved, simmering just under the surface love between Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth is so spellbinding, and the awful Sir Walter and Elizabeth, and selfish hypochondriac sister Mary and the Musgroves are such great characters!. The twists and turns that happen in Anne's life after Captain Wentworth enters it again are great, and the ending is delightful!. I also really enjoyed the 1995 film adaptation, and think Ciaran Hinds made the perfect Frederick Wentworth! Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm also going to say Pride and Prejudice! =)

Although I had watched the movie before reading the book, I still fell in love with the book - Jane Austen is a brilliant writer, and I love the type of language used in her stories, compared to more contemporary works!.

P&P has given me a lot of hope that I will find someone as amazing as either Mr Darcy or Mr Bingley =P

I think watching the film (the Keira Knightley version) kind of helped, because I was able to keep up with the plot, knowing what happened here!.!.!. And also because I was able to imagine the characters and the scenes more easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite as well, but since everyone else has already said that, Persuasion is a close second!. I love the main character, Anne Elliot and the man she loves, Captain Wentworth!. Unlike Austen's other heroines, Anne does not fall for the wealthy man of similar or greater social standing, but continues her long-standing affection for Captain Wentworth, who she knew long before he became a captain and made money of his own!. Anne lives in a very restricted social circle, always allowing others to put their needs before hers, and having only one really friend and confidant!. Her father and elder sister are more concerned with maintaining their appearance and rank, despite his having squandered much of his money since his wife's death!. Her younger sister is a bit of a hypochondriac, married to the son of a local land owner (he's possibly a squire!? I forget at the moment)!. But Anne is kind, prudent, and constant in her affections!. She is a sad character when the story begins, but in the end she is able to find happiness, love and the appreciation she deserves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like better "Pride and Prejudice"
1) for its heroine which is the most witty and outspoken one and is a little more passionate than the others (the worst heroine for me is Emma, I so want to slap her sometimes)
2) because on writing terms her style is at her best (I never liked for example the way "sense and sensibility" was written with small and mechanistic sentences)
3) and because it is the funniest book she has written and I can say also the one where the plot has no great lapses of the exciting (which "mansfield parks" has)

The second best is "Persuasion" and there are some funny instances on "Northanger Abbey" too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pride and Prejudice

because it's such a classic story and I love the romance between Darcy and Elizabeth!.!.!.that story pretty much set the stage for every romance novel or movie that came after it!.

I also love Sense and Sensibility and Masfield Park too though!.!.!.Mansfield Park acutally deals with some pretty serious issues that were faced during that time period!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

P&P!. I love Lizzie-- she's one of my all time favorite characters!. Mr!. Darcy is amazing, too-- I relate with his character well!. The writing is brilliant, the plot is interesting, and the characters are all interesting/developed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
