Hamlet!. He is a timeless character; his important questions are still applicable to today, and the answers are still not found!. His thoughts are complex; they are sometimes indechipherable, yet at the same time make sense!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a wonderful question but yet I find it so hard for me to answer! Through my time spent in literary worlds, it is so difficult to pick one character that could be deemed as the most complex!.

The first answerer said Hamlet, and I have to agree that he is a character with a lot of depth to him!. I think Mr!. Darcy from Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" is complex!. He's got mood swings like no other, and pride that nearly is his ruin!. Huckleberry Finn was a pretty complex character, as well, even for a poor, uneducated runaway!. Maxim de Winter from Daphne Du Maurier's "Rebecca" is also a complicated fellow!. I'd say why, but I don't want to give away the secret to that ending for those that haven't read it!.

I apologize for such an evasive answer!. It's hard for me to pick "mosts" and "favorites!"
