For older books (published before 1923), start with:

Then do a search for "free e-books" and you will find many more links!.

Newer books are still under copyright, so you will have a much harder time finding free e-book versions!.

It is legal to read books written before 1923!. However for books under copyright, the author has to agree to allow you to read them online for free!.

Most authors don't because they feel it will cut sales!.

Cory Doctorow is one that feels differently!.

So enjoy classics online and check author's webpages to see if they allow free reading of their books!. Some will at least give a first chapter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes you can find some in a program called Google Books!. I've used it several times for homework!. Its not the best program but it works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
