Question: What is it called when authors use a fake name!?
I can't remember what it's called!. If you have one, do you have to register it!? Do you use your fake name or your real name when copyrighting!? When you send your work to a publisher, do you tell them both names!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's called a pseudonym!. Checking the books of Ruth Rendall, a prolific writer who also writes under the pseudonym Barbara Vine, I see that the copyright for some is held by Ruth Rendall, for others Kingsmarkham Enterprises Ltd!. Author Kathy Reichs' books are copyrighted to Temperance Brennan, L!.P!. (Temperance Brennan is the name of the fictional medical examiner in her novels!.)

Another term for it is "nom de plume", which is French for pen-name!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
