To have a point, a love story must also have a side story or background plot!. A mission or objective that doesn't have anything to do with the relationship!. Most historical romance novels have a historical event to correspond and explain why things are happening or a mystery to solve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read a love story like Orpheus and Eurydice, and you will see the point of a love story!. It is what the characters do in their pursuit of one another that makes the point!. also remember that English professors have spent their career reading a lot of serious and classic literature, so if they see something as trite, and a waste of their time, they will let you know, even if it happens to be good from another person's perspective!. I am guessing he wanted a short story with a point, not one that entertained!. There's no point to a romantic comedy like the play "The Importance of Being Earnest!." Mistaken identities and silliness are what this is about!. A love story like "The Notebook" proves that true love can survive mental illness, "Morning Glory" shows that two people who've had tough lives can find love together and be happy!. The point is for the reader to get a good dose of romance!. These days best selling authors like Nicholas Sparks, Stephanie Meyers (not saying they are the best authors) write to entertain and intrigue authors and teach lessons in young love, love throughout the years, modern love, etc!. Ok so maybe those arnt "classics" but isnt that what Shakespeare did with Romeo and Juliet!? I suppose Jane Austen romances have more of a point explaining the history and the class efffect can have on romance like in Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, etc, but i dont know i still see those as fun to read romances!? No one reads romances for a freaking history lesson!.!.!.or for educational purposes!.!.!.i'm sorry they just dont lol!. Your English teacher is a bitter jerk lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
