Question: Vampires of Twilight - why are they beautiful and why do they sparkle!?
So the venom that's supposed to help sedate and kill you will somehow turn you into the perfect, immortal person with a body perfect for being an underwear model with diamond cells!. With creative license, I can buy that, I suppose!. But WHY can they do these things!?
Vampires are predators!. Sparkling in the sunlight would tell your prey that you were coming!. It would give you away!. Now, they supposedly sparkle and are beautiful to attract their main prey - humans - which would be attracted by your physical beauty!. However, Edward specifically says at some point that people purposefully didn't approach them because, due to instinct, they're scared of them!. So it's basically useless in the first place!. (Beyond that, if I saw a dude sparkling, I'd run away!. But that's beside the point!.) And if they're ungodly fast and strong, why do they need to lure their prey in, in the first place!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess Meyer wanted to create a new era of vampires!. But she shouldn't have called them vampires because it goes against everything a vampire should be--maybe something like the "Sparklies" would have worked better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I think Meyer chose to make vampires beautiful because it added on to Bella's part!. It would make her love Edward even more because he's beautiful (if you realized Bella spends a lot of time talking about Edward's beauty)!. About the sparkling, I think it was for their hunting!. They are hunting in the forest, a big wide open space where sun can easily give away themselves!. That's why they need speed!. In order to obtain food, they need to get to it fast enough without being seen!.

they are dead creatures who have given their soul away or something like that!. that is why they are perfect!. they cannot go out into sunlight or it burns them, however they can be in like electricity!. the reason why they stay in forks is because it is always dark cold and raining!. if they lived in like pheoniz that would be stupid because it is hot and bright!. so if you went to go touch a vampire in the middle of a hot sunny day he would be freezing cold!. how would that turn out!? a little suspicious!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

B!. Susan- Did she seriously say they can't go out into the sun because it would burn them!?! Oh goodness!.
Anyways!. I personally think that they are just gorgeous because that's the way SM wanted them!. And it wouldn't be a good story if Bella fell in love with an ugly or even scary looking vampire!. So, I think they're just gorgeous because it adds to the story!.
EDIT: As for the sparkling, I have no idea!. I think SM just went a little overboard and had too much fun making up stuff!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
