Question: Which is correct !.!.!.1!. David's and Georges's book (or)2!. David and Georges's book!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Both are correct, but it depends on whether you are showing joint or separate ownership!.

If you are showing joint ownership, it will be like this:
David and George's book!.

If you are showing separate ownership, it will be like this:
David's and George's books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Neither one!.

The possessive of George is George's!.

Technically correct is David's and George's book!. Depending on tone and voice of what you're writing, that might be fine!.

However, most people are more likely to *say* David and George's book, so if you have a character say this, or if the narrator's tone and voice is decidedly casual, that might be the right choice!.

Sometimes writers make grammatical mistakes on purpose, after all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
