1!. Bird imagery

2!. The lyrics form the song "Blackbird" suggest that the blackbird has been oppressed in some way--waiting to be free, broken wings, in the dead of night!.

3!. The black population of the American South was oppressed during the Jim Crow era!.

4!. In To Kill a Mockingbird, a black man is unfairly accused of raping Mayella Ewell, and dies after being wrongfully convicted!. also, Boo Radley is almost a prisoner in his home, and only comes out at night!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't see the parallel between the two beyond the bird imagery in the titles!.

I can only imagine that they could relate in the way that something good must be made from the bad!. The lyrics are simple and few, and could be interpreted in a very wide way to include injustice, bigotry and integrity!.

Did your teacher assign this, or was this your idea!? It seems a rather sketchy assignment for a teacher to give!. You may need to dig into what your teacher is searching for, because the answer is far from clear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No obvious connection!.
Blackbird is about young black women yearning for freedom!.
(In Liverpool girls were called birds those days)!.
