Www@QuestionHome@Com I think that it's conditional because psychologically, as students you're basically "forced to read" mainly the sources of information are textbooks or any type of book in general and it creates an aversion to the object!. Not only that, but many people today do not promote their kids to keep reading or go to the library to pick up any book, (my friend can't even get his parents to get him a library card because they're too lazy and he's 17 years old!!) also, some people just don't like to change their habits, they almost feel as if it is a chore instead of a new exciting thing that can lead them into new realms of thought and imagination!. I don't think that reading is boring at all :) I think it's actually quite enlightening but it's taken time for me to see it that way you know!? There are also so many other Distractions around like the internet and video games and t!.v!. that sometimes the greater, more scholarly pursuits that require A LOT more brain power than any of these activities combined, can make it seem like it's too much of a challenge to take on!. Sometimes, I think that doing those things too much can rob you of your brainpower, ie!. watching t!.v!. Plus, most people just can't face the quiet of their own mind and enjoy the solitude and freeflow of imagination that a book can give :) It's crazy but I hope I helped answer your question instead of ranting :DWww@QuestionHome@Com Only people who don't read or can't read say that!.!.!.reading is anything but boring!. It's a ton of fun and it allows you to broaden your mind and use your imagination so much more than you would by watching tv or playing video games!. When you read you can imagine your own world and visualize your own characters!.!.!.you can't do that with movies because you can see what things look like and you can hear how the characters sound and see how they look!.!.!.it's just not the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com People think books are boring because people have small minds!. In our modern society, aided by increasingly advanced technology and diminishing traditional values, quick, cheap, and instant entertainment comes at a minimum, and instant gratification could actually be called one of our new values!. People want shock, they want awe, they want laughs, and they want them all NOW!. Books may have the capabilities to deliver such pleasures, but only rarely will a given book provide the desired effect at the right time!. Nowadays, thanks to the internet, one can easily find with a minuscule search time exactly what one is looking for!. For example, Google "war movies" and you'll likely turn up something appealing in that category!. A book, however, in not likely to provide the same instant, visceral appeal!. As to your other question, I think books are boring or not based on content, but if I were forced to make a generalization, I would say that books are not boring!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I don't think that reading is boring, but I do think that some books are boring!. We all have different tastes and different ways of thinking!. People who say that reading is boring don't appreciate reading because it isn't how they think and so they would more likely than not find it more difficult to understand!.
