Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Why don't you finish!? Because you don't know what you want your characters to do!? The answer to that is outlining!. There are many forms of outline that writers use!. The simplest is just writing a sentence for each scene!. Another method is to think of the ending, then write to it!. Or is it because you get bored!? Writing is hard work!. That initial burst of creative energy only lasts so long, then you have work very hard to get to the end of it!. That is the boring part, but every writer goes through it!. The quickest way to become a writer is to practice!. Write everyday!. Try for 1,000 words!. Not words on your work in progress!. You sound like me - once I start something I get very distracted, by websites normally, and quit!. The thing is, I do this with homework - I know I have to get it done, so if I don't finish it I'll have to do it at a later date and then I'm wasting time and the work is often rushed and I don't put enough effort into it!. The difference is - you don't have to write a book - you want to!. I'd advise you to set yourself a date, TELL your teachers you're going to hand them in a draft on a certain day, then you'll make yourself finish it!. Having a few people who read your work as you write it can help!. It can give you that push to work on it b/c they are waiting to read more!. In college, my English Lit teacher taught us to do free writes for 10 or so minutes!. If you get stuck, just keep writing the same word or phrase over and over again until you get unstuck!.
