Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
1!. First a foremost, the actual song for Catcher in the Rye: Comin Thro the Rye - Robert Burns!. This is the song the little kid sings whilst walking along a dangerous sidewalk!. It captures childhood innocence and is symbolic of Holdens desire to be a Catcher of Children, and protec innocence from adult corruption!.

2!. Some of the beatles stuff!.!. for example, "yellow submarine" or any of their other non-sensical songs!. They are similar to Holdens dialouge which is non sensical also, but very symbolic!.

3!. Trouble - By Pink for the times when Holden gets a burst of confidence and rebellion!. These moments are rare, short lived and powerful!. For example, this song would be good for the moments when Holden lights up a cigarette!. A bit generic, I know!. But still appropriate!.

4!. Bohemium Rhapsody - This could be good for any number of moments!.!. "mama, I just killed a man"!.!.!. relates to Holdens childlike nature, and the quote "this is a people shooting hat!. I shoot people in this hat"!. Crazy song for a crazy character!.

5!. That song: Sunshine, Lollipops and!.!. rainbows!.!.!. You know it!? Perfect symbol of childhood!. Could be used in a scene where Holden imagines the Rye, or when he watches children in the park!.

6!. Over and Over - Nelly!. For a scene where Holden walks alone!.!.!. Any scene where he thinks his random thoughts, but probably not the scene where he asks Ellie to save him from falling in the gutter!.

7!. You've got to get some live piano music, for when Holden sits in the new york club, with the live piano player i forgot his name!.

8!. Some really cliche, middle aged, diso pop for when Holdens sitting with the older women in the bar/club in the foyer of his hotel!. Something old and cheesy!.

I seriously can't think of any more!.!.!.!.!.!. atm!. Dead tired!. Good luck eh ><

Half Right by Elliot Smith is a good one!. There's a couple parts of the book you could use that for!. Maybe when he goes to meet with his teacher at his house or about the girl and the checkers board!.

Exchanging Two Hundred by the Early November is reflective of the loneliness Holden feels!.

Don't Be Afraid to Sing by Stars is about someone who is too afraid to do anything but is being reassured that they won't be alone in the end, which is what Holden fears!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

wow!.!.!.who is your teacher!?and where do you live!?on an island of brilliance! if there is one thing that holden hates it is fakes!.!.!.so i would lead you to songs about that!.!.!.it would be ironic to use something by john lennon since his assasin had a copy of catcher in his pocket!.!.!.maybe wheels go round!? good luck!.!.!.i think you will do well with the kind of education you are getting!.!.!.oh,maybe where is my mind by the pixies or long distance runner by fugazi!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
