Are you talking about the one from the 1600's and on into the 1700's!?

If so, that was prominent in England during the Elizabethan era and it, along with the Bible, were often the only books that people were generally guaranteed to have in their houses!. It shows the religiosity of that period, which of course is ironic since the red light district was very popular (where Shakespeare performed his plays) and prostitutes were also popular!.

It's pretty heavily protestant themed, which of course is what religion Elizabeth was, to the costernation of her sister Mary in Scotland and other countries (France, Spain)!. It talks about the persecution of Protestants and hopes to build faith and more protestant followers in England!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
