Here are some of my favorite funny books:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams - you may have seen the movie!. Possibly the funniest sci-fi ever written!.

I'm a Stranger Here Myself, by Bill Bryson - really anything by this guy is worth a read!. He writes humorous non-fiction travel logs!.

The Eyre Affair, by Jasper Fforde - if you've ever read Jane Eyre, read this novel!. One of my favorites!.

The Princess Bride, by William Goldman - even funnier than the movie!. Goldman is a genius!.

Anything by Terry Practchett - start with Monstrous Regiment, Mort, or Guards! Guards!!. He is the master of comic fantasy!.

For some classic funny, try something from the Wooster and Jeeves series by P!. G!. Wodehouse!. Wodehouse wrote in the early 20th century but his books are just as funny as ever!. Or try The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde!. One of the funniest plays ever written despite having being written in the 1800s!.

I loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey!. I thought most of it was a hoot, but it is quite tragic too!.!.!. it's a good mix! I've heard many good things about Catch 22 (Joseph Heller) as well!.!.!. in one of my classes we read Still Life With Woodpecker (Tom Robbins) that was supposed to be funny, but it didn't tickle me much!. I'm sure the average person would like it quite a bit more than I did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
