Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Don't target the bestseller list!. It's less about whether or not a book has a quality story than it does the rate of sales!. While, generally, being on the list suggests the book is good, there have been exceptions where sales were generated solely by a celebrity's name (as subject or author) or timeliness of a topic!. If you try to write books similar to what's on the list, you are following a trend that will likely not exist by the time your work is published!. Just reading bestsellers is not always helpful if you have not learned how to analize a work - which usually means having to read it a second time for most people!. How did the author handle the writing - use of techniques, style, dialog, plot and pacing, character development, etc!. Www@QuestionHome@Com It just has to be really really really good!!!
