I know I am a little behind the times!.!.!.but I am looking for a good read!. I know Harry Potter is a little young for me (I am 22), but i had a friend reccomend them to me, along with the twilight series!. Is there anyone out there that is older that has enjoyed the HP books!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm in my thirties and love harry Potter!. The first couple are more juvenile in their outlook (but then Harry is very young), but well worth beginning at the start, as the film misses out so many clues to what happens in the finale!. And in the film Prisoner of Azkaban they never explain that the Marauders Map is named after four characters!. You will love them, they are much better than the film, the characters have more depth!. The series grows up along with Harry, the last tow are very dark, not really suitable for young children at all!. Happy readingWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'm twenty and I love Harry Potter!. In fact I just re-read the whole series and it was just as good as the first time I read them!. I also have friends (26, 23) who enjoy them just as much as I do and my cousin who is 35 has always been a fan!. Honestly, J!.K!. Rowling is a great author, I still laugh out loud at some of the parts and even cried again even though I knew what was happening!. Don't let the "children's books" title scare you because the Hobbit was essentially classified as a children's book when it was first published although the lessons and symbolism behind it can hardly be determined by a child reading it!.

As far as Twilight!.!.!.I'm not so much of a fan!. It was good, but you can definately tell how inexperience Stephenie Meyers is as a writer!. I found the saga entertaining but VERY predictable!. This is a great series to read if you are in to more romance novels and sappy sorts of stories because it is filled with cheesiness!. Many people still loved it in spite of all that, but to me it was a turn off!. The vampires and werewolves were the greatest part of the story and her best writing was done from their perspectives!. I guess if you really aren't in to reading in the first place the technical aspects really wouldn't bother you that much though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm 37 and I love the Harry Potter series!.My favorite character is Hagrid!.I don't think it was just written for kids,it is so well written that anybody can read it!.J!.K!.Rowling created a whole new world!.

As for the twilight series I have read it but it didn't keep me much interested!.It is poorly written and the style of writing was annoying!.I have read lots of other vampire books and have enjoyed them much more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm more than twice your age, and have read the lot!.

On a serious note; I don't think books should be categorised into age-groups!. Sure; there's stuff intended for the very young (and stuff which should be withheld from them until they're emotionally mature) - but by the time someone reaches their teens nothing should be off limits!. If you're fifteen or so you are neither too old for Harry Potter nor too young for Dostoyevsky!. Read whatever takes your fancy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am 23 and have enjoyed both series!. Both authors are great story tellers and it is easy to get wrapped up in these books!. also, since you're older, they are fairly quick reads so they are easy to be up all night reading!. I enjoyed Harry Potter very much but I loved Twilight!. It gave me butterflies to read about the sweet romance story and I honestly felt like I was 17 again and falling in love for the first time!. My husband, on the other hand, wishes I never read Twilight because I did tend to talk a lot about it at first!. :) Give them a try, you have nothing to lose!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

there is no age limit on Harry Potter,
really there isn't, as the series progressed the writing became more sophisticated and directed at the people of harry's age and even more adult (17)
it's highly readable and i'm only 14 myself but six of my 20-30 year old cousins and i have all read and enjoyed them a lot!.
Older sister read it as well!.(24)Www@QuestionHome@Com
