Question: Can anyone recommend me a really good book!?

Available in the UK, quite a big book so I can read it for a while - but interesting at the same time!.

I like all books, but read just about everything I think I would find interesting, thought I'd take recommendations from you guys!.

A Quiet Belief in Angels by JP Elroy ( I think thats his name!. I've lent the book out again so I don't have it here), and Shadow of the Wind!.!.!. Spanish author, can't think of his name at the min (again, I've given it away)

I'm reading the Thirteenth Tale right now by Diane Setterfield and it is excellent!. It has a slow start but only the first chapter!. The rest of the book is fantastic!. It is about a woman who loves to read and write and she is writing a biography about a very eccentric, mysterious writer!. I don't think it will take super long to read, however!. If you want a book that will take a while you could read David Eddings!. He has several series of books that will take you a long time to get through!. He write epic fantasy, so knights and horses and gods!. The Belgariad and Mallorean have 5 books per series (both series use the same characters) and the Elenium and Tamuli have 3 books per series!.

Twilight Series

CHERUB series (The Recruit is the first one) it is by RObert Muchamore who is from the UK!. Great set of books!. I was never into the whole spy kinda scene but he really writes a great book!

EDIT: These people suggesting the bible arent kidding!. It has some cool stories even if you arent religious!. I like the tower of babel myself!.

also I would have to reccomend the Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card!.

If you are mature enough, anything by David Sedaris is good for a laugh

And I found Double Helix (I forget the author) to be AMAZING even though its a bit sciencey

also the House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer is GREAT and it shows you all these flaws of society and has great pace and is SO SUSPENSEFUL

I finally (although I have many more suggestions) would have to say The Giver by Lois Lowry!. Its über short but its SO good!. If you do read it dont just read it!. Try to think what the author has to say about many cultures!. And think REALLY hard about what happens in the very last paragraph please!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend anything by John Grisham!.

His books are mostly modern legal dramas!. Several of them have been made into movies!.

Runaway Jury, The Client and The Rainmaker are some of the most popular movies/titles!.

It is a great book about the 1893 World's Fair (Colombian Exposition, Chicago) and the serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims to their death!. True story, very well written!.
