How many words per page are there in a regular book?

Question: How many words per page are there in a regular book!?

so i'm writing an amateur book, and i was wondering out of curiosity, pretending my book got published, how many pages it would be in a regular paperback form!. so far i have 29,777 words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First congratulations on the goal you have for yourself!. As well as the brains to consider it 'amateur' with aspirations of being 'professional'!. It sort of bugs me a bit that everyone seems to think they are going to be a published author because either they have put pen to paper or they have an idea!. I'm sure your humble approach will get you much farther than many of the other so called authors on Answers!.

Although I didn't verify this fact, an e-published author friend of mine told me that 250 words a page is standard!. That breaks down to 25 lines a page, 10 words a line!. She even had me change my margins to the appropriate setting so that would always be the end result!.

I have had two novels published and honestly when I started writing them six years ago I didn't even have enough common sense to double space my pages, however my editor was willing to read it as well as back it!. I rarely check my word count because although word count is very important in the industry it seems if I say I have 212 pages that the editor/publisher or any other industry professional seems to have a word count sort of pop into their head as well as what type of story!. A novella, a short story, a full length etc!.!.!.

it would depend on the guidelines from the publisher - usually for a manuscript there are around 250 words per page - i hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
