Question: What book has impacted you most, and why!?
Personally, my choice would have to be Slaughterhouse-Five by the late Kurt Vonnegut, for the author brilliantly underscores the horrors of war and the ironies of life with a quick wit and his fabled black humor!. By using time travel as a plot device, a reader catches several glimpses into the life of the likable protagonist, Billy Pilgrim, who leaps from memory to memory throughout the span of the story!. Anyway, read it if you haven't, for it is an unbelievably poignant novel, and a quick read (not that it matters), too!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

A good couple of years ago, an old friend of my mothers came to us and told us about a book she had in her possession called "don't rock the cradle"! she had told us how it contained vital info and eye opening disturbing stories in it about the south African anglo boer war with the english!.!.curious about the book my mother borrowed the book and read it! this book was based on the truth and was published around the 1980's and was immediately pulled off the market and banned and burnt when it was discovered!.!.!. my mothers friend had seen the book and bought it at that time and she had said that only a few people in south africa had owned this book!. the book is worth allot of money and is regarded as sacred amongst the people whom own it! it contains info about things the world never knew about the anglo boer war and things that never ever was allowed to be told or discussed or put in history books by the english! its almost like a missing piece of history and secrets of south africa that aren't know to us! only a few know about the book and have heard about it!. and only a handful own it! my family has been on the search for the book and cannot find any info on it or people that own it!. even who wrote it! my mother cannot remember the author, as it was probably about 18 years ago that she read the book and the lady that owned the book has since past away 7 years ago! this book has impacted my mother and the little bit she has told us about it has been very disturbing to us, its was worse than what the germans did to the jews and the war back then! and nobody even knows about it!.!.!. and the only piece of evidence there was, was wiped out and brushed under the carpet! but now a days, people are starting to talk and tell things of anglo boer war that has never been known, so im hoping in the near future that some one els would come to the open and maybe "re-wright" the book or reveal it again!Www@QuestionHome@Com
