I recommend "OH MY GOTH" by Gena Showalter

(A fiercely individualist Goth girl wakes up to discover that the whole world has gone Goth and she's actually -- gag -- popular!.

Jade Leigh is a nonconformist who values individuality above all else!. She has a small group of like-minded Goth friends who wear black, dabble in the dark arts, and thrive outside the norm!. They're considered the "freaks" of their high school!. But when Jade's smart mouth lands her in trouble -- again -- her principal decides to teach her a lesson she'll never forget!.

Taken to a remote location where she is strapped down and sedated, Jade wakes up in an alternate universe where she rules the school!. But her best friends won't talk to her, and the people she used to hate are all Goth!. Only Clarik, the mysterious new boy in town, operates outside all the cliques!. And only Mercedes, the Barbie clone Jade loathes, believes that Jade's stuck in a virtual reality game -- because she's stuck there, too, now living the life of a "freak!." Together, they realize they might never get back to reality!.!.!.and that even if they do, things might never be the same!.)

How about "BLACK CREEK CROSSING" by John Saul!.
(For most of her young life, fifteen-year-old Angel Sullivan has been on the outside looking in, enduring the taunts of cruel schoolmates and the angry abuse of a bitter father!. Then Angel's family moves to the quaint town of Roundtree, Massachusetts, where a charming home is available, a promising job awaits Angel's unemployed father, and most of all, the chance to make a brand-new start beckons to the shy, hopeful teenager!. But when she is shunned by her new classmates, Angel falls deeper into despair!. Until she meets Seth Baker, a fellow outcast, and a fateful kinship is forged!. It's Seth who tells Angel about the legacy of murder that hangs over her family's home, and the whispered rumors that something supernatural still dwells there!. Uncertain whether the stories are true, and desperate to escape the torment of their daily lives, Angel and Seth devote themselves to contacting whatever restless soul haunts the dark recesses of Black Creek Crossing!. But once they have begun, there is no turning back!. Guided by an anguished and vengeful spirit, they uncover the shocking events and centuries-old horrors, that lay buried beneath the placid veneer of Roundtree!. And along with the ghastly revelations comes a terrifying power, one that feeds upon the rage of the victimized, turning the basest impulses and most dangerous desires into devastating weapons,!. Now, the closer Angel and Seth are pushed toward the edge by their tormentors, the deeper they descend into the maelstrom of dark forces they've unleashed, and the more unspeakable the hour of reckoning will be!. )

Just about anything by john Saul had my turning pages!.

I have a few favourite authors, who offer different writing styles and ideas!.

Stephen King is excellent!. Try reading IT or Salems Lot!. Both will keep you awake at night, and make you want to read everything he's written (ok so i'm biased cos I think he's the best author on the planet lol)

Michael Crichton is a good choice also!. He writes medical stories, (he wrote the pilot episode of ER) as well as thrillers!. Jurassic Park was a Crichton book!. For a first time read, try Prey!.

Jodi Picoult is a fabulous writer, favoured by females!. My Sisters Keeper is a page turner you won't be able to put down!.

I would also recomend The Color Purple, by Alice Walker!. Written as a serious of letters, it is a classic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
