Send it AND tell them you're age!.!.!.!.!.!.in all honesty, a publishing company doesn't care if you're 30 years old or 3! If you've got excellent material that you think is good enough to publish, go for it! You're age doesn't matter!.!.!.!.!.your writing style does!. Don't be afraid of rejection!.!.!.!.it's going to happen, and it's going to happen a lot, but send it to everyone, and don't be discouraged!. Did you know that novelist Stephen King had a publishing company tell him that his hit "Carrie" was a waste of time and would never make it as a book!.!.!.!.!.!.Stephen was so discouraged that he trashed it, then his wife dug it out of the trash, and CARRIE became a hit novel and a movie!! Good luck! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Age is not a factor!. You can be any age and still get a novel published!. There have been ten year old authors and their books are a success!. Like the first person said, look at Eragon!. Christopher was fifteen when he wrote the first draft of ERAGON!. He took a second year to revise the book and then gave it to his parents to read!. The family decided to self-publish the book and spent a third year preparing the manuscript for publication: copyediting, proofreading, designing a cover, typesetting the manuscript, and creating marketing materials!. During this time Christopher drew the map for ERAGON, as well as the dragon eye for the book cover (that now appears inside the Knopf hardcover edition)!. The manuscript was sent to press and the first books arrived in November 2001!. The Paolini family spent the next year promoting the book at libraries, bookstores, and schools in 2002 and early 2003!.
In summer 2002, author Carl Hiaasen, whose stepson read a copy of the self-published book while on vacation in Montana, brought ERAGON to the attention of his publisher, Alfred A!. Knopf, which is part of Random House!. Michelle Frey, executive editor at Knopf Books for Young Readers, contacted Christopher and his family to ask if they might be interested in having Knopf publish ERAGON!. The answer was yes, and after another round of editing, Knopf published ERAGON in August 2003!. Just remember your first novel may not be a success but just keep trying!. Remember failure is your worst enemy and your best friend!.

Geez, I hate to be the "bad guy" but

1 - you have asked this and similar questions several times in the past couple of weeks!. People have answered, but you don't take their advise!. Have you even looked at those answers!?

2- you seem to be looking for someone to give you the "magic" answer and make you instantly a famous author!. Even a lot of adult writer's keep looking for it!. !. Everyone likes to feel validated when it comes to their dreams!. There is no magic answer or secret handshake to getting published!. Just hard work and time!.

3 - you seem fixated on Houghton Mifflin to be the one to publish your novel, but they only publish nonfiction and textbooks!. Do you even know why this is important!? If not, don't be surprised that they don't want to look at your work!.

If you were older, I'd say more, but you're young, so I won't!.

Keep writing!. Dreams don't come true without working at it!.

You are most definitely too young!. You may be an awesome writer, but you don't have the writing experience you need yet!. Not that you should stop writing your book!. By all means, continue! Just don't send it out yet!. Wait a few years, then review your material!. You will see a big difference in your writing!. Good writing comes through experience and time!

My advice to you would be to finish your book, then put it away somewhere!. Set a date, at least a year in the future, when you will pick up your book again!. When you return to your book, go through it and edit!. Do that every year or few years!. Wait until you have at least graduated high school, then send your book to the publishers!. By then your book will have been completed to the best of your ability, and it will be in the best possible shape when you send it out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's worth a shot! Either you don't get the book published, or you try and they don't publish it! Or they do! So you have nothing to lose! DONT TELL THEM YOUR AGE unless they ask you specifically! If you have to fill out forms, then do! But research it first, a letter of recommendation or something may help!. If they turn you down, turn to a newer, more obscure publishing company, which would be WAY more likely to publish your book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you really want some honest advice!? Listen well!.

Plenty of people on this site will tell you to go for it, follow your dreams, you can do anything, etc!. Well maybe that's true, but writing is different!.

You see, writers get their style only after years of experience and practice!. Even if your grammar is perfect (meaning you know what gerunds are, and you can pick out the different types of clauses in a sentence) and your writing is pure poetry, you still don't have enough experience!. You need to live more of your life and wait for that experience to come before you try to publish a book!.

Some people are going to tell you that Amelia Rhodes and Chris Paolini got published as children, but what they won't tell you is that these kids had connections in the publishing industry!. And I've read their books, and honestly, the writing is awful!. They really should have waited and practiced and published a book when they were older!.

And trust me, age shows in your writing!. You may be good for your age, but publishers will spot a novice's writing straight away!. This goes back to what I said about experience!. Child writers just don't have enough!.

You may think I'm being harsh, but you can't say I don't take my own advice!. I am not 18 yet, so I refuse to send my work to a publisher!. I don't think I'm old enough for my writing to have developed yet!.

Patience is a virtue!. Just wait, and you'll watch your writing grow as you do!. Don't try to rush into this!. Trust me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

advice: send your book to a publisher that specializes in the genre of book in which you are writing!. Publishers look at a lot a stuff when deciding to publish a book!. Most of the ones they get on their desk aren't even looked at and are tossed!. Heres some advice: Do what i said above!. Have your book neat; publishers dont like seeing sloppy papers!. Attach a note to the main page giving a brief summery about what its about!. Make sure you have you grammar down good!. Another things is to make sure that your book is progressing!. Most publishers dont even read your whole book!. They typically start out on the first page, then skip a little to see if it is moving forward!.!.!.!.!.but yea!.!.!.good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

Younger authors have been published!.!.!.and I'm not sure the publisher has to know how old you are when you make your submission!.

However, any aspiring author should be careful to use good grammar in all writing situations!. The writing skills you show in your question are poor!. Maybe they're better than most kids your age, but that's not important to a publisher!.

I just had my first novel accepted (should have a release date in a few weeks actually) and I am WAY older than you are !.!.!. won't reveal my true age though (ha!) I believe you have to be 18 with most major companies for legal purposes and all!. And, if you try one place and get rejected just keep trying over and over and over! Good luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey put your story on critiquecircle!.com first so it can be reviewed, it's completely safe I promise!. Publishers will not accept anything but the best so you need to make sure all the spelling and editing is correct!. You might want to get a spell checker built into your web browser too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if the book is good, age is no limit
:)
you can tell your age, but the opinion matters only about the plot

look at eragon!.!.!.

by the way, what is the story about!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, what's it about!? if its something edgy, and not overly done, then of course!. i suggest you submit it to a smaller publisher first (or one that does not publish text books!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most authors get turned down numerous times before they get their book published!. Some wait a whole life time to get published!. Work on your book, keep writing, and read great books!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why not start out sending something to Reader's Digest, you will lose your copyright, but at least you'll be published!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good luck with that!.
It's a long process of editing and re editing and etc!. !.!.!. but hey, at least you're trying to achieve your dreams!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think Houghton Mifflin publishes text books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The author of Eragon was 15!. And his book was awesome!. Just send it!. GO FOR IT!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yeaa whats it about!?!?
