He does not write poetry anymore even when rita wants him to!. He is disillusioned and cynical with his life!. he doesnt have self fulfilment lke Rita at the end!. Its all in my book but in school, so sorry cant remember it all!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't really get the question!. In the book, Frank is severally unhappy with his life and throughout the course of the book, they both learn from one another what it means to life live the way they feel they would be most happy!.
On the other hand, Frank's attitude to his girlfriend, and the way he refuses to give up alcohol, even though Rita gives up smoking is evidence that he isn't making an effort to change!.
also, even though he has wrote poems etc, he does nothing with them, so his want for something better is not as strong as his laziness and lack of strength of character!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
