There are several, but one of them is The Life of Samuel Johnson by James Boswell!.

Like you, another one is The Diary of Samuel Pepys!. Unlike you, I have a copy of Selections From and not The Complete Diary!.

The Good Earth by Pearl S!. Buck is one more I keep putting off!. I don't know why!.

I've wanted to read the Nuremberg Trials by Leon Goldensohn!. I've started on 2 chapters, but then came across a book that I had to read immediately!. After that, I came across another book again!.

Now, my list of books-to-read have piled up, so I haven't felt the need to read it right now!. I will though, once I feel that urge!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Call It Sleep, by Henry Roth;

Shelby Foote's magisterial trilogy, The Civil War: A Narrative;

the last two-thirds of The History and Adventures of the Renowned Don Quixote (Tobias Smollett's 250+-year-old translation, laugh-out-loud funny);

Living to Tell the Tale (Gabriel Garcia Marquez's autobiography);

Madame Bovary;

The Portrait of a Lady; and

Wrapped in Rainbows: The Life of Zora Neale Hurston!.

ADD-ON: A tip to Kyle: We know you're new or newly reemerged here, but you're not the most original guy!. The Nazi thing has been done tons of times and really doesn't shock anymore!. Here was one of your first questions a couple days ago, "Would you consider the diary of Anne Frank a slapstick comedy!?" So, the other problem is that you're not clever enough to be funny!. So, ix-nay on the azi-Nay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A few books I've read for school, but want to read for pleasure:
Beowulf without the pressure of an exam to go with it!.
I read The Grapes of Wrath in 8th grade (That's been more than 15 years ago) and picked up a copy at an estate sale!.
Classics I've never read:
Most of Austen's works
MASH
The Catcher in the Rye
Roots
Nonfiction:
A People's History of the United States
