Question: Questions about uncle tom's cabin!?
One year my sister left me a book that used to be banned!. It is Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe but i notice that when i open the book there are no dates and no publishing company!. It just says International Collections Library!. American Headquaters Garden city, new york!.

i was wondering if that was just because it was banned and inorder to protect the publisher!. and i haven't read it yet but is it possible that the book was edited and censored!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes publishers of public domain material don't bother to put in dates of publication!. Probably that's what happened here!.
If International Collectors Library is not a reprint publisher I'll be very surprised!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually what you describe is not that uncommon!. I have a number of books that were published sometime in the late 1950's or early 1960's that have no date of publication and don't mention a publishing company!. The books I have were textbooks from that era, so your book may be part of that sort of milieu!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could be that someone has just ripped out some of the pages at the front of the book!. I read the book this summer and was quite moved by it!. If you think the book has been altered in any way, purchase an inexpensive copy at any bookseller!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
