You said it yourself "Its an awesome book"!. People have been reading it for over a hundred years!. Classic means that it's still being read!. I mean there are books that are called "classics" that are no good, like Moby Dick for instance, sure it has good parts but there is a lot of useless boring stuff!. So classic just means it been around for a long time and is still read!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

A classic is something that stands the test of time!. In this case, the book you are talking about is still read and loved by many people even though it was written back in 1870!. That's why it's considered a classic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
