Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Try Sarah Dessen books!. My favourite is The Truth About Forever, but some of her other ones are a bit shorter!.
To get an idea of what she is like, the movie How To Deal is based on 2 of her books combined!.!.!. in case you have seen that!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

That means that you might be in the same grade as me!. Maybe 5th or 6th!? No!? Fine!. If yes tell me! O!.K, so Percy Jackson and the Olympians, by Rick Riordan are really good books!. Harry Potter books are also really good, but they might be to long!. Eleanor Estes has written awesome books like Ginger Pye, The Witch Family, Pinky Pye, The Moffats, The Alley, those kind of books!. You should really try Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events!. They're hilarious!. Howl's moving Castle, and Septimus Heap books are cool too!. Hope this helps! Oh and the Pirate and the Princess are awesome, so you can find them at your local Borders!. Oooooo, and Barnes and Nobles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Uglies by scott westerfield!. its a whole series!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe some of these would intererest you, I read ttyl and a few of the othe other books in the series - rsve etc - but found them pretty boring too, these books are not really similar but much better!

The A List (series of 10) - Zoey Dean
About the goings on of the teenage children of the rich and famous, contains a wide variety of material - love, hate, jealousy etc!. Loved it!

Girl Meets Boy, Guy Next Door, All American Girl, Avalon High, etc!. - Meg Cabot
I absoloutly love Meg Cabot's books! I would especially recommend the Girl Meets Boy & Guy Next Door as well as the third in that series, I immensly enjoyed them! Some are intended for adults but most for youth and I love them all!

Lioness Quartet, Wild Magic Quartet, Trickster, etc!. - Tamora Pierce
Tamora Pierce's books are mainly set in the land of Tortall in medieval times, they use the same characters just at different stages of their lives and different books/series' focus on different people!. They consist of fighting, magic, love, etc!.

The diaries of kelly ann (2 books) & Jumping to Confusions - by Liz Rettig
These recount the goings on of an older teenager as she strugles to make decisions and learn to trust in others!. The second one, Now or Never is about her relationship with a boy and is funny but romantic and suspencful at the same time!.

It's A Mall World After All - Not sure who wrote it though!.!.!.
Comedy of a girl and how she falls in love with her best friend's boyfriend's bestfriend while stalking her friend's boyfriend in an attempt to prove he is a lying cheating scumbag!. A very good read & lovey but funny at the same time!.

I'd Tell You I Love You But I'd Have to Kill You - Ally Carter
About a girl brought up as a spy and enrolled in a leading spy school who falls in love with an ordinary boy and can’t tell him who she actually is!. Funny!. There is a second in the series called To Spy or Not to Spy, it’s just as good!.

Possibly the S!.A!.S!.S!. series - Numerous Authors
About the travels of students and what happens to them on their stay - love etc!. Not brill but an ok read

Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paloini
Love them, you have to read them, Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr!

Sweet Valley High Books - !?!?!?
I can’t remember who wrote these but they’re a pretty good read even if they are kind of old!. If you’re into series’s these are good as their’s over 100 books

The Last Summer (Of You and Me) - Ann Brashares
A good book but immensly sad, it is probably better for older teens or adults!.

I have more suggestions if you want to hear them, just contact me or check out my website, http://www!.freewebs!.com/greatteennovels/

Hi !
The Ghormenghast trilogy by Mervyn Peake ;
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Gormenghast!.!.!.
TitusGroan
Gormenghast
TitusAlone
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Titus_Groan!.!.!.

Plot introduction
The book is set in the huge castle of Gormenghast, a vast landscape of crumbling towers and ivy-filled quadrangles that has for centuries been the hereditary residence of the Groan family and with them a legion of servants!.
At the beginning of the novel, two agents of change are introduced into the stagnant society of Gormenghast!.
The first, more obvious agent of change is Titus Groan, the heir to Lord Sepulchrave, the seventy-sixth Earl of Groan!. His birth interrupts the daily rituals which are practiced at all levels of the castle society, from the kitchens to the Hall of Bright Carvings in Gormenghast's upper reaches!. However, the novel only covers the first two years of Titus' life, and he plays a minor role!.
The second is Steerpike, a ruthlessly ambitious kitchen boy, who is the driving force for the plot of Titus Groan!. His entry into Gormenghast society, at the same time as Lord Titus is born, introduces a steady rate of change into a stagnant world!.

Plot summary
The second book follows the story of Titus from the age of seven to seventeen!. As the novel opens Titus, as the 77th earl and lord of Gormenghast, dreads the life of pre-ordained ritual that stretches before him!. Barquentine as Master of Ritual, and Steerpike his apprentice, are seen by Titus as the embodiment of all he wants to rebel against!.

Plot summary
The story follows Titus' journey in the world outside Gormenghast Castle, having left his home at the end of the second book!.
Finding himself lost, he suddenly discovers exactly how outdated his home really was, as he stumbles into a city of strange technological marvels, of shimmering metal and glass buildings, whose inhabitants travel by motorcar and airplane — and yet which also houses an entire culture of outcasts beneath the city itself in the "Under-River"!. The book also includes themes more usual to dystopian science fiction, such as marked inequality of wealth and involuntary euthanasia, and in many ways anticipates the steampunk genre!.
