I sympathize, because I am exactly the same way >>;;

First off, writers block goes away!. You'll find yourself being inspired by odd things, and eventually, something will just snap!. I don't think there's any real 'cure' for writers block, except for maybe looking for inspiration in places you wouldnt expect!.

As for the low-writing-self-esteem bit, I do know a few ways to fix that, though most of them I'm not proud of!.

First, acknowledge that there will always be someone better than you!. Always!. Because the biggest critic a good writer can have is themselves, and in our eyes, theres always someone who prevails where we do not!.

Second, acknowledge that there are people who are way worse than you, and you are talented!. Everyday I see horrible books that I can't believe got published!. Raid fanfiction!.net, if you want to see some bad writing, or even just peruse through your local bookstore!.

And third, even if you have writers block, just write all the time!. There's no way to get better =D

Hope I helped a bit, and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, if you really think that you have writer's block, you're simply kidding yourself!. You need a new topic to write about and that's the very core of the problem!. I usually like listening to music when I write- Linkin Park, Simple Plan, they really help me set a mood no matter what mood I'm in!.

Well, I suggest you listen to music for one, and simply write what you can!. Start by writing with a random word and transform it into a paragraph!. Write about what you can- write about your own personal experiences in a different way, a different angle, maybe a bit more dramatic!.

Learn something new! It's the only way you can get an interesting story going!. So many "aspiring writers" in this age write about a group of popular girls with boy trouble!.!.!. Do you really think that's going to knock any self-respecting reader off their feet!? No!. Not saying you do this, but in general!.

No matter how many masterpieces are out there, you can still write!. Each idea, each story, each plot is unique and it's own!. No matter how many books are written on a mob or the Mafia, each is different (let's hope people don't plagiarize and get on the shelves!)!.

Good luck and you can email me if you have any questions! xDWww@QuestionHome@Com

Find something that inspires you to write instead of putting you down, if reading other peoples work discourages you then don't read it when your in the moment to write!. Instead find something that inspires you in the moment to write, like music or talking to someone that really influences your life!. Try to avoid things that cause the tension of writers block that doesn't give you the feeling to write!. Hope this helped!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because none of those masterpieces have your name on them!.

Go for a walk--anything to change your surroundings and make you feel in touch with nature and immersed in the world!. Sitting at home on a computer is probably the worst thing you can do when you're trying to get inspired to write!.

The only way you can become a better writer is to experience and write, and write some more, and then some more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say that you should take a break from writing and then reread what you wrote!. Think about what you already know and what you already wrote!. This should bring up some new things to write about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I get that!.!.
music is what I use, totally sets the mood on what you want to write about!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You must discover the means for overcoming your "low sefl-esteem"! Obviously, everyone who writes is not Shakespeare! There are numerous best-selling authors who are not great writers; they simply comprehend marketability and are able to write in the style which is acceptable to publishers; additionally, they were most likely quite fortunate, originally, to have their initial novels deemed acceptable, then to have developed a readership!.
Writing is an obsession with me, and I've written two (self-published) novels, self-published, perhaps, because I lacked the confidence in them to expose myself to rejection by the mainstream publishing system!. I am also a perfectionist and spent small fortunes in correcting the errors in my novels before I could submit them finally for actual publication!. I may never become famous or affluent from my writing, but I'll always have the satisfaction (the joy, actually) of knowing that my books exist in the real world!.
If you long to write, you must do so! Don't dwell upon the nebulous future of what you might write; first, create the story/stories which are piquing your imagination!. Sit at your computer, develop and complete your concept; once you're finished (the initial writing will always be a rough draft), then you can concentrate upon perfecting what you've written!. Think of writing as fun; try not to anguish over what might or might not transpire in the future; try to enjoy the creative process!.
One last observation, I've read countless excerpts of "novels" posted here on Answers by those who consider themselves "writers", many of whom are nearly illiterate, yet appear to have no problems with their self-esteem and blithely expect that they are writing material which publishing companies will covet! You have written a literate question, so have a grasp of the language going for you; don't be afraid to write; just do it! You may have real talent, but you need to express it!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
