Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes, i read that book last year in Holocaust Literature, unfortunately i had forgotten a lot of it!.

I feel the same way you do!. The Holocaust was a horrible, horrible event, perhaps the worst thing to happen in history!. I still find it hard to believe people are capable of such evil, terrible, and sick things!. I've read many a stories in my Holocaust Literature class, and nearly every single one made me furious!.

I also get furious at the people who try to deny that the Holocaust ever happened >!.< The evidence is EVERYWHERE you dumb people!!

Ah, i wish i could remember all of the books i've read in that class, then i would have reccomended them to you!. Sorry!.

And yes, we often times take what we have for granted!. It seems like the only time we really appreciate what we already have is when we see, hear, or read how much worse other people have to live!. Anti-Semitism, Ghettos, and Concentration Camps!.!.!. all horrible things to have to go through!.

Peace out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Night was a very powerful novella that I read last year!. It's very depressing to read about the holocaust--also, disgusting!. I did make me appreciate what I have, even though the country I live in has such a corrupted government and other problems (USA)!.

If you want to know just how sick the holocaust was, search "Nazi Medical Experiments"!. It will make you quite ill!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Books such as "Night" really do sadden and shock with their insights into real human evil!.!.!.I suppose they should make us not only appreciate our own lives more, but also strive all the harder to keep things as they should be for everyone around the world!.!.!.they are important historical works!.

"Survival in Auschwitz" by Primo Levi is an excellent book as is "Schindler's List" by Thomas Keneally (originally called "Schindler's Ark" and published before the film) - and for a terrifying look at the organized banality of evil try the massive classic "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shirer!.

I think the Holocaust is one of the defining moments in human history (and one of the defining moments, certainly, of the last 200 years)!. It's lessons must be learned - as we can see, they are not!.!.!.so it goes in Rwanda and Darfur and will continue to happen!.!.!.!.

I suppose the Holocaust teaches how to remember our shared humanity even in the face of our own stinking humanity!.!.!.how to shoulder on!.!.!.!.it was not the first horrible event, nor will it be the last - but we can take hope from survival and from the future which is unwritten!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am 50 years old and learned about the Holocaust in 5th grade when I had to read The Diary of Anne Frank!. It became my favorite book ever!. Like you it made me really appreciate what I have!. I read Night and cried all the way through it!. Man's inhumanity to man is the sickest evil of all!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
