Question: In the book animal farm, what concept does snowball symbolize!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Snowball is based on Leon Trotsky (soviet union)!. He is concerned more with helping the other animal's welfare, and while a leader for a short time he tries hard to improve the farm!. Snowball (like Leon Trotsky) was exiled after Napoleon (based on Joesph Stalin) gains power!. After that, Snowball is blamed for anything that goes wrong, and some of the animals are forced into false confessions of "helping Snowball at night" - which leads to them being publically executed!.

That is all I can remember of it!.!. I studied it a year ago!. However, I just found this article which may be of some use to you:

Snowball stands for Leon Trotsky!. Napoleon is Josef Stalin, and Old
Major is V!.I!. Lenin!. Lenin was the initial leader of the Soviet Union!.
After he died there was a power struggle which Stalin won!. Trotsky was
forced to flee Russia to save his life!. Stalin then claimed that Trotsky
was trying to subvert the USSR by siding with the West!. This is why
in the book Napoleon says Snowball is working with the humans to
overthrow the animal government on the farm!. It is just an excuse for
Napoleon to get his way, to make everyone support him against an
outside enemy!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
