It was very good but I did find it a bit slow at first - but once I was into it it was great!. I was just reading it a chapter a day, while reading other books!. Try it!. The characters are very in-depth and it is based on a real time, about real people!. The book could have happened to anyone in that time; if you were doing a history project on the great depression I would also recommend it!. Once you understand the characters, you start to love it; and it's fun, not just like when you read a book because you have to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I liked the way Steinbeck alternated his chapters, one chapter giving a 'macro' view on the Dust Bowl and the migration west by the "okies", and the other telling the story of one family, the Joads!. One of my favorite classics!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Serious, depressing but excellent!. You may understand far more about how the Great Depression affected ordinary people after reading it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
