Obviously, what works for one person may not work for another but I don't know anyone who hasn't got something out of this: Go for a walk (a long one, at least an hour)!. Try not to think about your novel!. If you do, let the thoughts come and go!. It'll be easier than you think with all the distractions around you!. When you come back, sit down and set a timer for 45 mins and just write non stop!. Let yourself write any old junk that comes to mind!. Just don't stop; don't censor yourself and don't try to write the novel!. Just write ANYTHING!. Most importantly, you mustn't think about what you're writing!. You mustn't worry about whether or not it makes sense, is spelt correctly etc!. You'll find that if you do this regularly, the story will write itself!. As far as the character is concerned you can do the same thing but start with an image of him/her in your mind and write yourself a letter from the character!. It sounds difficult but it's not!. It's all in your head already and this is a brilliant way to let it out (and then edit!) Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rest!.!.!.!.!.Relax!.!.!. then take notes of single words and individual ideas that spring into your mind when thinking of your story framework!. Then, when you are in the right frame of mind to compose, you will have a wealth of useful ideas fresh from your unfailingly active subconcious mind!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Take a break and some time off from your novel!. If you are not under a deadline, you may need to get away from it for a time and relax!. You will know when to start back!. The words might come to you when you are doing the most mundane of things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It would help if I knew what the situation was!. Put yourself in the mind of your character(s) and think of their next most likely move or want and go on from there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
