Why do people like the Twilight books so much?

Question: Why do people like the Twilight books so much!?

I've read the books and in my opinion, it's all fluff!. The main allure of the series seems to be Edward Cullen, but I found myself easily bored with him ("perfection" just makes him dull to me)!. And I was disappointed in how little character development there was!. Will the fans please tell me why they like the book!? Non-fans, why do you think the series is getting so much attention!? I completely agree with Val!. I would also like to add the fact that Twilight is not well written!. Meyer often repeats words with her character descriptions that seem to go on through the entire book!. Her syntax and vernacular are child like even for a young adult book!. It also seems like there are four adjectives and adverbs in every sentence as if she's being paid by the word!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm on the last book, Breaking Dawn, and I don't really like it that much!. But overall, I loved the series!. I could relate to Bella's personality at times and Edward was like perfect so yeah!. I mean who wouldn't like to have a perfect vampire boyfriend!? If he had been less stalkerish- like that would've been better!. Oh and I'm still a teenager and I haven't really seen too many books about vampires and romance so thats a pretty new concept in our generation I think, which is why many people are interested in reading it!. I read the series as well and wasn't too impressed but did enjoy reading them!.

I think fans like them so much because of the illusion and idea of a perfect guy with qualities that will never occur in real life!. Girls fall for that kind of stuff; it's interesting!. They can't help but wish they could meet their own 'Edward Cullen!." Plus it's a romance and an adventure type series and that's always attractive!.

I'm not gonna lie!. I was hoping Stephanie Meyer would let Jacob and Bella be together in the end!. That would have been a great twist but all in all the books are stereotypical and have a wishy-washy ending that is so expected!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The series is only popular because of Edward!.
It's because he's so annoyingly perfect that all the girls love him!.
They want to be Bella!.

Honestly, the books are just a waste of paper to me!. Edward is too perfect (and abusive I might add) and Bella is just an idiot!. I read the books and waited for my eyes to stop burning after each one!.

There is no original plot!.
No original characters!.
No character development!.
No point to the books in general!.
The 'romance' in them makes Hollywood look more realistic!.

it is similar in some ways in the book to other things like withering heights & romeo and juliet!.
but really!.

i loved the books!. but im a writer and i take all my good books seriously so twilight i take VERY seriously because i could get lost in the book, and i loved the characters, plot, and the whole book

I haven't read the books, and before the movie advertisment i didn't even know there was one!. It's looks like a typical Teen nonrealistic sci-fi romance to me!. So you're going to get girls aging from 12-14 going fanatic because i guess they want something to rave over besides Harry potter!.

I perfer historical fiction and the literature classics!. I wont touch a teen book!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was personally a fan of the books!. But not in the obsessive I love edward kind of way!. Actually I was much more interested in Alice and Jasper's relationship!. The author has a vary interesting writing style and she vary detailed oriented, she deserves the attention she's finally getting!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

most people either love it because of Edward as you said, of the easy to follow plot, or the romancey-adventure-fantasy type thing

i personaly didn't care much about edward in paticular, but more of the vampire thing going on!. and jacob and the werewolves in the books following twilightWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's getting so much attention because it's about vampires, and immortal god-like strength versus the fragility of mortality!. A lot of people wish they had god-like strength, or wish they could be coddled by someone with god-like strength!. Pathetic, really!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm reading the series, and I don't really like them!. They just go on and on, and there isn't a point, because the girl is so obsessed with Edward!. They're hard to put down though, but once you've read them, they're boring!. I agree with you that they're all fluff!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
