The very first lines of Eclipse are Jacob's note to Bella that he can't forgive her and they can't be friends because of the fact that she is dating a vampire again and that he is a werewolf and they are mortal enemies!. Charlie decides to unground Bella (she was grounded after running off to Italy and after Charlie found out about the motorcycle) on the condition that she spend time with people other than Edward!. Edward shows up for his last cordoned time with Bella and he's trying to get her to fill out applications for more universities!. Then they end up talking about a recent surge in murders in Seattle where numerous people are turning up dead and apparently it is caused by a newborn vampire!. Then once again they start talking about the whole vampire vs!. werewolf thing and how she is not to see Jacob again!.
After school where Alice has a vision of Jasper somewhere she doesn't know!. Bella composes an email to her mother while Edward finds the plane tickets that Esme got Bella for her birthday!. After trying to persuade her that she needs to use the tickets and go see her mother, he brings it up in front of Charlie!. He's all for the idea until he finds out that Edward will go to and tries to ground Bella again!. Bella storms out after threatening to move out and she and Edward go to the Cullens!. When she gets back her and her dad have "the talk" At this point Bella goes upstairs and spends ten minutes mulling over the idea of going to see Jake!. By the time she gets to her car Edward is sitting inside and has the engine dismantled!. She forgot about Alice!.
While they were in Florida Renee got rather worried about their relationship and brought it up to Bella who brushed it off!. When they get back Bella is called by Jacob who wants to know if she`s back and she figures he wants to know if she`s still human until he arrives at school and talks to them on the school grounds!. This is when Bella learned that Victoria is still after her and that over the weekend she was away the Cullens and the La Push Pack nearly went at it over border rights!. At this point Jacob also remembers all the images about Bella during the time Edward was gone and taunts Edward with them!. In class she demands the details and tells him that he will tell her next time!. Then the rest of the school is buzzing over Jake and making bets over who would win if it got to a fight!.
Bella goes to work at the Newton`s Outdoor Store while Edward is out hunting and they tell her to take the day off because they don`t think the store will be very busy!. She gets the idea to go to La Push and is able to make it there before Alice can get the word out!. On the beach they swap stories about Victoria and Italy and Jacob tries to persuade her that dating a vampire is wrong, unnatural!. Then the story about the Sam, Leah and Emily love triangle comes up along with the news that Quil is now also a werewolf!.
Then she leaves and goes to Angela Webers to help her compose letters of invatation for her grad to a million members of her family, on the way there Edwards car appears in her rearview but shes too much of a coward to pull over!. When she gets home she eats and goes to her room where Edward is waiting for her!. They talk about how close he was to breaking the treaty and how he had to trust her and let her go see Jacob again!. Then she proclaims herself to be Switzerland and refuses to stay away from the werewolves just because shes dating a vampire!. Then Alice picks her up from work on Friday because Edward had to go make up for a missed hunting trip, and ends up stealing Bella away to the Cullens house so she cant go see Jacob again!. Alice got paid off with the yellow porsche!.
Rosalie comes into Edwards room where she is sleeping and tells her the story of how she became a vampire!. And Rosalie tells Bella that she doesnt like Bella because she would give anything to be human again and Bella is willing to just give it all up and join them as vampires!. The next day at school Jacob shows up and kidnaps her and they go to La Push!.
Imprinting comes up, Quil with a two year old!. Then they hole up in the garage and the past is brought up and when Bella tells him she is going to be a vampire in a couple weeks he says he would rather her dead and she grabs her motorbike and rides through the rain and mud back to the Cullens!. Edward comforts her when he comes back and promises her she can go see Jacob, but she doesnt think she is invited back!.
Edward comes to her house after the slumber party facade is over and smells an intruder in her rooms!. A vampire he doesnt recognize!. He calls out the troops and even Jacob comes to get a whiff for the pack!. In thr process he helps her with the dishes and when she tells him the specific date when shes changing he cuts himself with a knife he was drying!. Healed in moments and Bella desanitized the place with bleach, only forgetting the knife till Edward came back and she brings up missing clothes!. The Cullens try to decide to go to Seattle to talk to the newborns about the rules!.
Then Bella goes to La Push for a bonfire and hears the history of the werewolves including the imprinted wife of the pack leader who killed herself to distract the vampire and let the chief kill it!.
The Seattle killings get worse while Bella tries to persuade Edward that she is ready to be changed, and to persuade Alice that there should be no graduation party!.
This is where Jasper tells his story about the armies of Newborns in the south and how he used to be one of them!. And how he and Alice met in a bar and came to the Cullens place!. Then the Cullens start calling up friends to come and help them fight the newborns!.
She goes to La Push again where he admits his love for her and she is unwillingly kissed!. When she tries to punch him she ends up breaking her wrist and he takes her home!. There Edward shows up and threatens Jacob with bodily harm and then takes her to Carlisle to get fixed up!.
The day of graduation Alice shows up with the shirt that Bella needs to finish her ensemble and Bella finally clicks with the idea that the break in to her room and the newborns in Seattle are both connected!. They graduate and Bella tells Edward who follows her and Charlie to dinner, kisses her in the parkinglot, follows them home and kisses her on the doorstep to his house and holds onto her the whole time at the party!. Until Alice sees a vision and all of the vampires vanish upstairs while she is left to deal with the uninvited werewolves at the door!. Jacob gives her a charm bracelet and Alice and Jasper save her from some information desperate vampires and decide that the werewolves could help them fight!.
In the middle of the night they go to the baseball field and go over maneuvers that would be imortant in a fight against newborns!. This is also when Bell and everyone else learns that there is ten wolves, not six!.
Edward and Jacob discuss what to do with her during the fight and they come up with an elaborate plan!.
Bella convinces Edward that she should either be in the fight or that he needs to stay back with her!. He decides to stay back!. Then Alice comes over and plans another slumber party with her for the weekend, to give Charlie a reason why she wont be home!. That night there was another fighting lesson!.
Then Bella goes to the Cullens for the whole sleepover masquerade and when its just her and Edward she tries to convince him to sleep with her!. Doesnt work and he ends up giving her a wedding ring instead!. A large elaborate ring that used to be his mothers!. Then Alice sucker punches her into doing the wedding for her, doing all of the arrangements and such!.?
Bella makes a scent trail to lure in the newborns that Alice can now see are coming!. Then Jacob carries her and runs to a campsite in the mountains that she and Edward would be using!. Disguising her scent with his!. The mountains are cold that night and to keep her warm Jacob shares the sleeping bag with her and she is still semi awake when Jacob and Edward start talking about her and Jacob expresses his irritation that Edward wont leave and give him a second chance!.
The next morning Jacob is frozen out of the tent and Bella and Edward talk about their favorite ten nights in which they bring up the wedding which sends Jacob loco!. Bella talks with Jacob who manages to convince her that because she doesnt love him he will go down to the fight and let the vampire newborns kill him so she lets him kiss her!.
Her and Edward get together and they start listenting to the fight as Seth relays it and are interrupted by the arrival of Victoria and another newborn, Riley into their campground!. A fight ensues!. Edwards vs!. Victoria and Seth (werewolf) against Riley!. Seth and Edward win of course but when their battle ends two things come up!. Jacob was hurt and is being taken back to La Push by the rest of his pack and the Volturi are there!.
They race to the clearing where the rest of the Cullens are waiting along with one newborn survivor, a girl names Bri who Carlisle offered a second chance!. When Jane and the others get there they kill the girl though and leave!.
Bella goes to La Push and apologizes and tells Jacob it would never work out and he had to forget about her!.
Bella lets Alice do the wedding and sees her wedding dress!. Then Edward takes her to the meadow and agrees to have sex with her!. She declines and says that after the wedding will be alright because she wants to do this the right way!. Then it goes to Jacob who is now perfectly healed and has Leah buzzing in his ear about how stupid hes being!. He goes home, sees the wedding invitation that Edward sent and leaves the house, turns into a werewolf, and takes off, determined that he wont come back!.
