Question: What were those kid stories that were very grim!?

i think they were german!.!.and one had someone chopping of somenes thumb or something!.!.

The Brothers Grimm had some pretty dark and twisted fairy tales!.

Grim's fairytales!. I'm not sure about the thumb chopping, but I know that at the end of "The Little Red Dancing Shoes" story they chopped her feet off and her feet along with the red shoes danced off down the lane!. There are alot of our childhood bedtime stories, The Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, etc!. that have come from these fairytales but were "revised" to where they weren't so gruesome and cause nightmares!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of early children's stories were actually pretty gruesome and sexual in nature!. The one your thinking of is Struwwelpeter [by Heinrich Hoffman]
