Question: Please help me if you have ever read A Tale of Two Cites!!!!!?
I read the book over the summer and now need to analyze how the British were portrayed!. I had a hard time understanding a lot of the book and I can't seem to find anything to make good points!. I know Lucie was British, but how were the British depicted!?!?!? I thought the majority of the book was about the French! Did I miss something!?!?!?
Please anything will help!!!! Even just a hint! Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, Lucie was NOT British!. She was French but grew up in England (after her mother's death, I believe)!.

Keep in mind what the title is telling you: A Tale of TWO CITIES!. It's about London and Paris, for the most part!. I would suggest you compare and contrast the characters who are French with those who are British!. For instance, Sydney Carton is British and so is Mr!. Lorry from Tellson's Bank!. Lucie and Charles Darnay are French!. Madame Defarge (and her husband, of course) are French!. Miss Pross and Jerry Cruncher are English!.

The book gives you a view of the people in England juxtaposed with a view of those in France!. Do you see how the story goes back and forth!? While you are right that the overshadowing part of the story is the bloody revolution raging in Paris, still you see the relative calmness of England at the same time!.

I'm not sure that this is helping at all, but I would also suggest you read through the information at Yahoo Education, which is relatively thorough!. Check http://education!.yahoo!.com/homework_help!.!.!. You may also want to reacquaint yourself with the story - the whole of which can be read at http://www!.online-literature!.com/dickens!.!.!. The Literature Network - or search for various words and phrases in the story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
