Question: In a story I'm writing, how can I show proof that a 30 yr-old death was accidental!?
A character has been under suspicion of murder since his mate disappeared hunting in the 1970s!. Now his body has been found, what proof would be on a skeleton that he had, say, fallen and hurt himself, and not murdered!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Multiple broken bones and skull fracture consistent with a fall!. Maybe while he was hunting, he slipped or tripped and fell in an area where he was never found!. His head rested on a large rock and the skull fracture was shaped so that it was definitely caused by the impact with the rock!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it would be really hard to show that he hadnt been murdered other than the absence of Evidence showing that he had been murdered!. Its easy to prove someone has been murdered when in fact they have, and a lot harder to prove accident when it was an accident over 30 years ago!. Only thing i can think of is like he fell in a hole, or a well or something obvious and has been hidden away all these years!. Hope that helps!. Good luck!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go to this website: http://www!.dplylemd!.com/index!.html!. Dr!. Lyle can either answer your question, or you may find it already answered in his forum!. If you have to ask him, try to be a little more specific about the kinds of wounds you think would occur!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe a perfect preserved remains of him!. Meaning no dents or anything that would suggest staving or anything like that!. Maybe some information to what may have cause the accident, meaning some form of primary/secondary source!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
