I finished the book and i have so many questions!
Did Wilson know Tom cheated with his wife!?
Did Wilson kill Gatsby then kill himself!?
Why did Nick say he was such great friends if he claimed he hated him!?

I'm sad it ended! I don't know why but now I like Gatsby!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wilson doesn't!. He is dumb!. Because of the car switching and Tom's misdirection to him when he appears at the Buchanan house, Wilson thinks that Myrtle cheated on him with Gatsby!. He never tries to find out the truth because he is too simple to judge except by appearances!.

Yes!. Wilson shoots Gatsby and then commits suicide!.

Nick feels ambivalently about Gatsby, but he never hates him!. He admires Gatsby's aspiration and his (sacred) love for Daisy, but he thinks the corrupt world that Gatsby accepts and uses in order achieve his noble end is contemptible--so Gatsby is an object of scorn and admiration at the same time!.

You're supposed to like Gatsby!. A life without ideals, even if they be illusions, is more worthwhile than a life of vulgar opportunism or childish self absorption in pleasure (that plays you false anyhow, so you become like Tom, hypocritical, priggish, stupid, and self-indulgent)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
