I got this book for my b-day and i want to know is it worth reading!. It seems kinda long can someone tell me what its really about!? I heard its boring and theres no rmance or whatevr!? is it true!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

the host was an amazing book!. there is a lot of romance but the romance doesn't happen until the second half of the book!. the book is set in the near future when parasitic aliens take on human hosts and take over the planet!. the story follows one soul (what the aliens call themselves)!. the person that belonged to the body the soul is using, isn't all the way gone!. the girl trapped inside that alien's head taunts her and haunts her untill the alien has second thoughts on her way of llife!. she embarks on a journey to go back to her human host's life!. It's not boring at all!
There's this alien race of parasites that latch onto different hosts!.
The story is actually told from the perspective of one of those parasites after she's 'possessed' the body of a human!. By this point, the parasites have pretty much taken over the planet!.
But the human the parasite, Wanda, has possessed is still there - and speaking to Wanda!.
It's pretty funny, actually, because the parasites are really very friendly people!. :)
There is too romance!
There's a ton of romance between Melanie, the human Wanda posessed, and Jared, the guy she loves!.
There's also romance between Wanda and a human (I won't give away which one) ;)
It's really an awesome book!.
I totally recommend it!.

No, you have to read it!. There is romance and you'll get right into it once you read it!. Love it, it's amazing :D
I'm actually starting to think it's better than the Twilight series!. Breaking Dawn ruined the series for me and I loved everything about The Host!. But I heard SM is writing a sequel to The Host and I'm not sure if that will ruin it or not!.!.!.
Because The Host was a good book on it's own!. Yeah I'd like to see more of the characters and stuff but now I've seen what SM put in Breaking Dawn I really don't want The Host to end up like that, because Breaking Dawn really ruined the Twilight series for me!.

There is romance!. That's pretty much the whole story!. It is about these 'souls' who take over human bodies!. One girl called Melanie has been taken over by a soul, but she talks to the soul in her head!. She is not dead, unlike all the other humans when a soul takes over, but she can't control her body!. only the soul can do that!. She wants to find her boyfriend, Jared, and her brother who were the last two humans on earth after she got taken over by a soul!. The whole book is her search for her beloved partner, and how she and the soul both love them!. It is really good (I haven't finished reading it yet, but I'm hooked!) and is very interesting, as Melanie communicates to the soul through her thoughts and memories, so they have mental communication (like Edward and Alice in Twilight)!.

Yeah definitely read it! I waited out front of my bookstore for it for agesss it was so worth it, I read it in one sitting!.

The concept of it sounds pretty silly, but then again so did Twilight!.
It's about the world after a group of bodysnatching aliens invade it!. They attach themselves to your spine (inside you) and then go about normal life!. They're peaceful creatures, so they think they deserve earth more than us because the planet instantly achieves world peace, etc!.
It's more about the relationship between the characters/emotional and inner storylines as oppose to "Aliens" just like Twilight is mainly a romance as oppose to VampFic!.
Okay, at the beginning it is pretty slow, as it follows "Wanderer" one of the invading aliens!. She begins to relive memories of her "Host" Melanie (the human whose body she is in)!. This isn't uncommon, as a lot of the aliens take on traits of the humans and remember things!. The point of the aliens possessing the human is that the human minds just melt away!. But, Melanie doesn't melt away, she stays on in her mind and eventually her and Wanderer are side-by-side in their minds!.
So, Melanie takes Wanderer to find the guy she's in love with and her little brother!.
This is where it gets interesting, when she finds them!. She is taken to an underground colony where her uncle Jebediah and Jared (the guy she loves) and her little brother are living along with a lot of other humans!. At first they are really hostile towards her, as they would be, but slowly they start to trust her!.

I won't tell you any more except that there IS a lot of romance!. What with Jared unsure whether he can love Melanie while there's an alien inside her, and when there's a human who seems to be falling for Wanderer (or Wanda, as they call her) !.!.!. but is he really falling for HER or Melanie's body!?

It is completely different than the Twilight series!. It's about an alien race that has taken over Earth!. Human bodies 'host' the aliens!. The few humans that are left are hunted as fugitives!. The story centers around one of the aliens whose human host is still 'aware' and her relationship with her own kind and with humans!.
I liked it, but it took a while to get into it!. It starts out really slow!. There is romance, but not like what you are used to from her other books!. It's more sci-fi than romance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is romance, and it is quite good!.
Its about aliens who take over peoples bodies, but one girl resists take have her body taken over and is still her her the invader in her mind, although the girl has no control over bodily actions (most of the time!.!.!.)
