Question: How can I write this book!?
I have started writing a book!. The storyline is extremely intense!. My English teacher read a part of the story and he wants me to keep writing it because he thinks it could get published!. The thing is, the story is draining when I write it, so most of the time I only write when Im really sad and upset!. What can I do to get going on it!? I know, CARPE DIEM, can you please give me some thoughts on writing, or just whatever comes to mind!. What makes you want to write!? Thanks for the thoughts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure what makes me want to write, I sometimes think it's the attention that it gets me but I think it's something that I can only direct, not control!. If there's that much emotion in your story that's a good thing but maybe a hard one to direct!. Everyone one works differently but maybe for you it would help to plan to write everyday perhaps even giving yourself a goal of a number of pages that you will do every day or every week!. also, a book shouldn't have a high level of intensity all the way through, there needs to be some transition scenes where you let the reader catch a breath before you pull them back into the tension!. The reason for that is that when you hit them again just when you let them relax, the impact is all that much greater!. When you feel you can't work on the heavy bits, jump ahead and work on a lighter section!. Work on learning to see it as an assignment, a job, something you like to do but is just a part of you and what you do!. also, remember that nothing that is written comes out perfect the first time so if you can't bring yourself to do anything else, edit and revise!. The real art in writing comes from careful revision and it helps you stay focused on the story while you polish sentences that you have already written and it might give you a break from the emotional impact the story has on you!. Don't lose that sense of tension, though, that is what all writers struggle to find!. If you have it starting out, you're ahead of the game!. Good luck and keep writingWww@QuestionHome@Com

You know what makes me want to write!? I want to see myself on shelves someday!. I want to break the rules of traditional writing!. I am driven by my past, my present, and my future!. You need to read as much as you can because it'll help you form more idea's!. My desire to see myself as a writer is greater than anything else!. You have to write every day without fail, whether you've got writers block or not!. We all have hard days at work and we don't want to be there, but we do it any way!. If I have a hard day writing, I know if I want to make it I need to do it any way!. Train yourself to write correctly every time so that you spend less time editing!. Go people watching, its fun, and it'll give you good dialogue ideas!. Good luck, and don't ever give up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Carpe Diem doesn't cut it if you WANT to be a writer, you need to discipline yourself [ set aside time to write / rewrite ]!. If you DON'T want to be a writer, stop ! It's not something one can 'force', it comes from within!.
What makes me wan't to write !? Two things, as an avid reader I appreciate the pleasure stories can bring and would like to , hopefully, enrich someones life!. Secondly I have had an interesting and rich life [ met so many people, all with their own 'tales', lived and worked in three different countries ] so I think I have 'things' to tell/ share!. Plus I love writing !Www@QuestionHome@Com

You know that you don't have to write the book in sequence, right!?

Write whatever part that is calling to you at the moment!.

I'm sure that not every part of the story is sad and depressing!. I would never want to read a book like that!.

i'm writing a story too!.

after adding me tell what the story is about and i'll think of several ideas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Before I say anything, let me point out that each writer has his own style!. For example, some writers make carefully planned out outlines for their story and they know exactly how the novel will begin, and end!. Other writers don't put anything down besides a few notes, and just run with it!. So anything that I am going to tell you is purely optional, you can take it or leave it, but ultimately the only person who can answer your question is you!.

The central rule to writing is this: have fun!. If you're not enjoying writing the novel, how do you expect your readers to enjoy reading it!?

Writing can be rewarding, but it is also challenging because it requires a lot of self-discipline!. Essentially, it's like doing homework all day, because no one is really telling you what to do, and you are in the comfort of your own home!. You just have to pace yourself!.

Think about it like this: if you are going to write, say, a 200 page novel, and you write one page a day, that's 200 days to complete your novel, or about 2/3rds of a year!. That's actually par for course for writing novels!. Try pacing yourself, no one says the book is due in two weeks!. Limit yourself to one page a day!. One page!. That's it!. That way, you don't kill yourself writing 50 pages in a single setting and wear yourself out!. Once you start getting confident, you can bump it up to 2, 3, 5, or even 10 pages a day!. But it is like anything in this world, you need to practice at it before you become proficient at it!.

also, getting into a routine and establishing a comfort zone can help you, too!. I've heard of writers locking themselves in a cabin all by themselves when they write!. I've heard of others who like to write in their kitchen with their family running around!. I've heard of writers who like to write standing up!. I've heard of writers who have a very specific morning routine that they rigidly adhere to or else they can't get themselves to commit to a day's worth of writing!.

find your "zone"!. Be it music, TV, a website!. I like to read something motivating first!. When I draw, I like to look at inspirational paintings!. The emotions of sadness or being upset are emotions that can be mimicked!. a sombre movie with a tragic ending, for example!. Maybe some sombre music or Poetry!. These can put you in a mood that mimics the moods that inspire you to write, and maybe you can get some writing done then!.

Write it in the morning, or maybe late at night!. I heard of a person who once wrote a novel during their lunch break at their day job!. Figure out the when!.

also, figure out the how!. Former Professional Wrestler Mick Foley wrote a huge 512 page novel with a pen and spiral notepads!. It only got typed when his editor had it converted to digital!. A lot of writers obviously use a computer, but I know several writers who refuse to use anything but their typewriter!. Sounds archaic, but writers still like typewriters because A: there are no potentials for distraction and B: you have to think about the sentence before you jot it down!. Maybe sitting on a computer will tempt you too highly to play solitaire, or maybe post on Yahoo Answers, or something!. Or maybe you don't like the way the words are coming out!. It's definitely something to consider!.

That's what I have!. If nothing else, remember the cardinal rule: have fun!. If you enjoy writing it, your fans will enjoy reading it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
