Question: Please tell me your idea about this sentence!?
Craig Brawn from Mail on Sunday describes Vernon Little God as:
“In a just world, this ridiculously funny first novel would come free with every television set…”
I’ve read this novel, and know that it ridicules American tv shows alot, through many of its pages!. but I'm not sure about this part: "would come free with every television set"!
As I want to translate it, I need to be sure about its meaning!.

2- also please tell me how does the name "Sean"(Sean O'Hagan) is pronounced!? I guess the letter S is like sh in she, is that right!?
Thank u

The book criticises, in a dark humour sort of way, people who take the TV or news at face value without questioning it!. In the book, Vernon is innocent, yet the media is convinced of his guilt to increase rating!. The quote that states that the book should come free with any TV is a joke to criticise those that take TV seriously without question or research!. The book shows some of the factors that decided what to put on the TV were not based on fact, but on entertainment value!. Entertainment value may increase ratings, and get more people to view the show, but it can also take away from the factual accuracy of the show!. To those people the book could serve as a warning not to simply believe everything the TV tells you is true, but to actually get off the couch, and do some research yourself before accepting the media as fact!.

Yes Sean is pronounced Shawn!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

As per no!. 1: I guess that he pretend to say that instead watching to much TV, people should read more!.
Compare the price of a TV to a book, books are by far cheaper!. So literally they are free comparing to the price of a TV!.

As per no!. 2: I think that it pronounce like Shean!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
