I really love the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman!.

The regular trilogy: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning are all amazing!.

My favorite series by them though is the Death Gate Cycle!. It's a 7 book series, all pretty thick, but it's really cool!. After a nuclear holocaust, humans split into two groups, the Patryn and the Sartan and were locked in continuous conflict!. The Sartan divided the earth into four elemental worlds (fire, water, air, stone) and then made a fifth where they imprisoned all the Patryn!. Years went by and the Sartan lost contact with one another, and the worlds were left to themselves!. One of the Patryn, Xar, escapes the labyrinth and then goes back to free others!. At the time of these books, his helper Haplo is sent into the four realms to wreak havoc and stir things up in preparation of Xar's coming to take them over!. It's a pretty incredible series!. The first four books all take place in one of the elemental worlds!. Books 5 and 6 bring together two worlds at a time, and Book 7 incorporates all four and the final showdown!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jim Butcher's - The Dresden Files!!! I could not put them down!. The series is terrific with lots of action!. He is a professional wizard that is listed in the phone book!. He is like a private detective but with wizard powers!. He is poor and living in modern day!. Runs into all kinds of creatures and all kinds of trouble!. I am notorious for taking a month to read a book!. I was not able to put his books down!!! I hope you give it a try!. If you saw the tv series, don't be turned off to the books!. The tv series DID NOT do the books justice at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've read Eragon and Twilight, and for action/adventure, I highly reccomend the His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman!. It starts with The Northern Lights (also known as The Golden Compass), then The Subtle Knife then The Amber Spyglass!.

The first one was a little hard to get into, and the beginning is a bit confusing, but if you stick with, it gets amazing!. The 2nd two I read in a day each!.

You won't be able to put it down!. Its set in world where people's souls are outside their bodies, in the form of animals called daemons!. Everyone's daemon represents them in some way!. Its set in different worlds and involves magic and Gyptians (kinda like gypsies) and Armoured Bears and heaps of other fantastical things!.

You can read an extract of the first book here: http://www!.philip-pullman!.com/pages/cont!.!.!.

You might also want to watch the movie trailer, although I didn't think the movie does the book justice!. It'll give you the gist of what its about!.
http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=2vMmf8YAL!.!.!.
I reccomend watching the movie AFTER you read the books!. It'll make more sense!.

And Im sure you've read Harry Potter, but if you haven't, you should DEFINITELY read them!. Action, adventure, mystery, everything!.

Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld is amazing too!. Set in the future, where at age 16, everyone gets an operation to be "pretty"!. No more prejudice against skin colour or attractiveness!. It goes Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras!.

Hi!
The House on the Borderland , The Ghost Pirates or The Night Land written by William Hope Hodgson !.

"In 1877, two gentlemen, Messrs Tonnison and Berreggnog, head into Ireland to spend a week fishing in the village of Kraighten!. While there, they discover in the ruins of a very curious house a diary of the man who had once owned it!. Its torn pages seem to hint at an evil beyond anything that existed on this side of the curtains of impossibility!. This is a classic novel that worked to slowly bridge the gap between the British fantastic and supernatural authors of the later 19th century and modern horror fiction!. Classic American horror writer H!. P!. Lovecraft lists this and other works by Hodgson among his greatest influences!."

"The Ghost Pirates !. !. !. is a powerful account of a doomed and haunted ship on its last voyage, and of the terrible sea-devils (of quasi-human aspect, and perhaps the spirits of bygone buccaneers) that besiege it and finally drag it down to an unknown fate!. With its command of maritime knowledge, and its clever selection of hints and incidents suggestive of latent horrors in nature, this book at times reaches enviable peaks of power!." — H!.P!. The Night Land
by William Hope Hodgson
[O]ne of the strangest visions ever published in science fiction or fantasy is presented!. The Sun has gone out: the Earth is lit only by the glow of residual vulcanism!. The last few millions of the human race are gathered together in a gigantic metal pyramid, the Last Redoubt, probably the first arcology in literature, under siege from unknown forces and Powers outside in the dark!. These are held back by a Circle of energy, known as the "air clog," powered from the Earth's internal energy!. For millennia, vast living shapes - the Watchers - have waited in the darkness near the pyramid: it is thought they are waiting for the inevitable time when the Circle's power finally weakens and dies!. Other living things have been seen in the darkness beyond, some of unknown origins, and others that may once have been human!.?a Excerpted from The Night Land on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia!.
