I personally love Twilight, but its really interesting how crazy and obsessed people get over the book, whether they really loved it or can't stand it!. So tell me your opinion and whoever has the most reason behind there answer even if they disagree with me will get best answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love twlight!. And I have a couple of reasons for doing so!. One reason is that I would love for a guy to love me so completely as Edward does Bella!. To have a guy love me so much that he would keep me safe from himself if that's what it took to keep me safe!. To have someone love me so completely that my heart would feel like it was gone if he left!. Not saying that that would be ideal but the feeling of being loved is somethign everyone loves to feel!. Another reason is that even though these books aren't the most detailed and well written of books, they are books that we can relate to as humans!. Stephenie adds just enough of a desription that it makes us love the characters that we love, and hate and fear the ones that Bella does!. Plus she adds just enough info that can be applied to just how much we ourselves notice in a day!. We don't take in everything, we take in just pieces and little bits of descriptions of everything around us!. These books, other than the whole vampire, werewolf thing, has just enough information that we can apply them to the feelings and the things we notice in our own lives!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm more of a neutral!. But i love to argue with thoose people who are die hard fans of the series just to see how they react!. Because admit it it's just like fighting with those crasy political people who don't know what they're talking about!.
Twilight fans for the most part actually know what they're talking about it's just you can ocassionaly get on who dosen't!. Like when there was the oh is it out yet controversy there was this ones girl who was like it's impossible for people to have read it and all that!. But in closing i like the series but i'm not crazy obsessed and i'll never turn down the chance to yell at those who are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eh, I'm too lazy to type an answer, so I'll just copy an old answer:

"I loathe Twilight!.

The characters are unrealistic, shallow, one dimensional bits of fluff!. Edward Cullen is an abusive, nauseatingly cheesy, personality-less, boring bit of cardboard!. Bella is a whiny Mary Sue who makes women look bad and has no spine!. Jake was the only decent character in the series, and Smeyer ruined his character in BD!. The rest of the characters are either useless (as in, they don't do anything to contribute or move along the plot) or boring, a sign that they are bad characters!.

The writing sucks!. Fact!. I'm not debating that one!. Her writing is simplistic, redundant, and overly descriptive!.

The plot sucks!. It can be summed up in one sentence-- "A girl and vampire fall in love"!. How simplistic can you get!? The story is unoriginal as well; love triangles and forbidden love have been done a thousand times before, and vampire/human relationships aren't uncommon, either!.

The romance is not at all believable!. Edward and Bella fell in love for no logical reason-- they had one conversation, went to months without talking, had another conversation, then declared themselves "in love"!. Yeah, not buying it!.

The drama was overdone!. The climaxes in the series are wayyyyyy to dramatic-- I felt like Bella might as well have been screaming about how life was over and the world was dead because of how dramatic she was!.

Twilight is about as intellectually stimulating as Gossip Girl and/or Captain Underpants!. It has no symbolism, no substance, no theme, no message, no anything!. In other words, it has no literary value!. It's a fluffy novel that is filled with unimportant minutia that has no bearing on the plot!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Vampire's DO NOT sparkle!.

Yes, vampire's may be attractive in a quite dark way, but she's turning them in to teen heart-throbs, completely eliminating all sense of mystery [in the film one of them is played by the same guy that played CEDRIC DIGGORY in HP! oh how mysterious!?!] plus, who would actually want to kiss someone who has just been drinking the blood of some random animal!?!

it's like she has taken a million other books, [run of the mill teen romances] and just completely copied them, with one minor difference the "hero" is a vampire - but is in fact like every other male lead in a romance book, charming, charismatic, mysterious - there was no need to give him fangs!!! i mean he can go out in the day!! [that irks me the most!]

another reason i dont like the book is the fans of the book [please do not be offended!]
i hate the fact that the majority think it makes them cool if they say Twilight's better than Harry Potter, and things like that, because lets face it, no it doesn't!. at the end of the day your still reading a kids book, and you can pretend it's a teen book, that's so dark and blah blah blah, but it's not!. It's a book produced for commercial success, that is not even particularly well written!. if you like vampires stretch to reading Bram Stoker, then say you like Twilight!. if you still feel the same, then i'll consider accepting that you like Twilight as much as you say, but until then i'm not convinced!. It's not exceptional, in anyway!.

and to whoever said it is one of the best books ever written: WHAT ARE YOU READING!?!!?!!?!!?! i really hope you are saying that having never read another book!.

I used to absolutely love it but then (thankfully) Breaking Dawn came along and snapped me out of it!. Now I can see that Meyer's writing is very amateur (telling instead of showing, 1-dimensional characters, purple prose galore, word overuse, etc)!. also, there are too many horrible themes to count!. Meyer glorifies pedophilia, suicide, unhealthy relationships, anti-feminism, and plenty of others!. I would keep going, but then this would turn into more of an essay than anything else!. I thought the first book was interesting!. Just interesting!. I was totally shocked at how poorly written it was though!. But I still looked forward to the second book!. The second book, was just OK!. It was really, really typical!. I read the third book, only because I was interested in where the story was going, and I wanted to see if any of the characters were growing!. And, I was completely disappointed!. Eclipse!.!.!. I think that's the name!?!.!.!. it was a complete letdown!. I haven't read the last book!. I don't think it's worth my time!. The story is so cliche!. It's pathetic how obsessed some people can be over something so average and lame!. So many good books are going unnoticed because of crap like this!. It's very sad!. I wish teenage girls would grow a brain, really!.

As a teenager myself, I'm disgusted with girls my age and how they go all googly-eyed over a fictional character like this!. And Edward has no depth, none at all!. I wonder how this book can even qualify as a romance!.!.!.!. why do they love each other!? Ridiculous!. Bella is one of the worst characters ever!. EVER!.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with how the series ended!. It was so typical!. I knew what was going to happen, and I didn't even need to read the book!. But, come on! A baby!?! Jesus, I hope teenage girls aren't out there looking for vampires to knock them up!. Seriously!.

I have never read the books, but you are right that everyone is so crazy about it!. Almost ALL of my friends have read it and it is so annoying how they are always talking about it!. I hate it, personally, the writing is horrible, the characters are flat and completely idiotic!. Edward is abusive and Bella is a stupid doormat!. The plot doesn't usually come into existence until page 400, and the rest of the purple prose could be cut out!. The obsession is worse than the books themselves!.

I hated it, because the plot was boring, the characters were annoying, and the way the author wrote it was just pathetic!. twilight is one of the better teenage romances i've read but i dont think itz the best!. and i definitely think the later books are worse!. the characters were a bit immature but overall, the plot was ok!. the action was also paced well and that was enjoyable!. i think my answer's a bit wishy-washy, lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
