I wonder, would it be better storytelling technique to tell a story from beginning to end with no cuts or!.!.!. to start at a very interest part and flash back to the rest later!. Just for instance!.!.!. evil dad kills daughter's lover, daughter kills dad, or daughter kills dad because!.!.!.he killed her lover and he's a bad guy!? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It could depend on what you're going to use: Is it going to be of prose form!? Like a short story!? A graphic novel!? A screenplay!? I'd like to make a suggestion: Get several pieces of say, index cards, or cut up paper you're comfortable working with!. Write down a plot point on each piece of paper!. Rearrange it as how you think you'd be able to best present it!. You know, I think you might be able to pull it off with flash backs, say, open the story at the police station or the coroners' or the hospital, when all the killing has been accomplish!. Write it, at this point, from the survivor's point of view!. But you don't even have to do it like that - write it as how you think it comes out of you easiest first!. Create a skeleton of the story, if you think that will help!. From there, you can make revisions!. Write it out!. Revise/Edit!. Proofread!. Put it away for some time!. Read it again, or, better yet, have someone you trust and you know who can really give you constructive criticism!. Talk about it, etc!. Rewrite what you think there is to rewrite!. I have to say there's no one technique!. It's how you tell the story that counts!. Best to your writing! You seem to be a writer yourself!. It could be very different and attention grabbing for the reader to do it that way, but you have to make sure to keep the attention for the reader just as much as the beginning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I've always just started writing and I can tell pretty quickly if it's working for me, because I can't stop! If you're really organized, go ahead and start in the middle, because it's easy to add to the top later on in a word processor and it'll get your momentum going!.
