I really loved it!. Most people read it when they're young, but I read it about a year ago (I'm 20 now)!.

I liked the way the author introduces the conflict!. At first, you're unaware that anything is wrong, but as the story progresses, you find out they live in a bland world where everyone basically looks the same and sexual feelings are repressed!.

I also liked how Lowry introduced color with the apple!. She said that while they were tossing the apple, it changed!. It was still an apple, but it was different!.

And the storyline is so original!. One person carries all the memories of what life was like before everyone was the same!. The protag (I forget his name) eventually realizes that there is something very wrong with life, because everything is always the same--there's no reality!. No love, no hate, no warmth, no color!. There's nothing that actually makes their lives worth living!.

**edit**
He didn't die at the end!. The ending's ambiguous, but in Gathering Blue, there's this kid with blue eyes who's supposedly his descendant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, I loved it!.

I liked the everything about it!. The whole community was fascinating!. It was very interesting how the chose the children's jobs and "released" abnormal children!. It was crazy!. Kind of sad!. :(

I would hate to live in a world like that!. Wasn't it based on a view of a Utopian world!? I didn't really read anything perfect about that life!. No to me anyway!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read so long ago, but I remember really enjoying it!. I think I read it when I was 9 so the storyline of the book was something different from what I was use to!. It made me question things and always kept me interested!. I remember even crying at some points in the story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I absolutely loved it!. I thought that it was a very good take on a Utopian society, one that was adapted so that even preteen readers could grasp the symbolism and true meanings!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
