Question: Was it Tolkien (Wrote the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings) that!.!.!.!?
created the name Dwarrow as another name for dwarves, or was it from norse mythology!? I know he's the one that created the -ve part of dwarve, but what about dwarrow!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Tolkein used -ve for dwarf because he felt that "Dwarf" as a separate species was in fact a separate word than "dwarf" as referring to humans of smaller size!. He said that if humans had kept referring to the species "Dwarf", then they'd have come up with a special plural for it, like "geese" for "goose"!. "Dwarrow" was his own idea, though he had only used it once in the actual body of The Lord of the Rings!. There was a possible connection to a Norse word, but that word had never been properly translated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
