Question: Serious question for the "Twilight" girls out there: why the whole Edward Cullen fascination!?

Seriously!. And I'm not trying to be a jerk, either!. Go a bit deeper than "b/c he's hot" or "he's the hero, duh!."

Does it say more about the author or about the readers, that she can stir such emotion for one character!? I only know one person who prefers Jacob, and even I, a 26-yr-old man, am trying to talk her out of that mess!.

Its because to us he's THE perfect guy, the guy every gilr dreams of!.
Here are some traits that make him the perfect guy for us all:
He's incredibly polite
He's Smart (andot nerdily obsessed with computer games and stuff)
He's kind
He cares so much for the girl he loves he would die if she died!.
He worries about the one he loves continuosly
He is drop dead gorgeous
He doesnt care for looks
He picked a normal girl rather than one of the "popular people"
He's sensible
He's romantic
and He's old fashioned!.!.!.!.

Some of these things you probably wouldnt think girls of this day and age appreciate, but we do!.
We like to feel loved and cared for and so we can relate to bella, its also i good feeling to know that there are guys out there that pick the normal girls, not just the skinny blondes with big boobs and no brains!.

Edward is perfect in so many ways, he does have his flaws too!.!.!.!.
and many people think he is stupid for worring so much about bella, but i know that i would love to have someone that cares that much for me!. many other girls feel that way too!.

It gives us hope that one day we might find a guy like him!.

Its never gonna happen, but we can wish!.

Everyone has their idea of a "price charming" so to speak i for one am not "in love" with Edward Cullen after all he is a character but not reality!. I like his relationship with Bella and how they are good for each other etc!. I believe everyone has someone who makes them happy and not everyone is going to be an Edward!. I love the books and i like his character but i'm not searching for him in the real world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Seriously, I just finished the series, and I always wondered that also!. But as I kept reading, I kept that same question in mind, and then it clicked!.

I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend said everything that perfectly fit what I was going to say!. But I know that isn't going to happen, because my boyfriend isn't a character from a story and my boyfriends role isn't all planned out for him!. =P

It's because he's good looking, and it shows how shallow both the readers and author are that they all think *that* is perfection!. He is not a decent guy!. He is, really very overtly, a controlling jerk!. I hope that everyone works this out soon, because people going around thinking emotional abuse is romantic is not a good thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i don't know
i like twilight ( i loved twilight) but before it became popular
it was more special then
he is see through the eyes of bella ( who is in love with him)
and is portrayed as perfect in every way

its kinda sad casue he isn't real and some girls expect their boyfriends to be like him but hes really to 'perfect'

but he is a interesting character brave, a hero, hot but also very stubborn ( yes he) and arrogant ( a bit )

i think its also coz Stephenie Meyer, as you mentioned, writes about Edward in a sentimental way!.!.
also, because the books are written in first person we only see Edward's descriptions and such from one point of view, which is Bella's!.!.
( and she's like in love with this guy to the point of obsession!.!. )

I mean who knows what other people/vampires think of him!.!.

Ok well, here's the thing!.
For one, as you know, he's rich, gorgeous, smart, funny!. All the obvious!.
But he also has a lovely soul!.

He goes through AMAZING amounts of pain so he can be with Bella, and is totally protective of her!.
He fits his natural instinct to kill her and drink her blood so she can be safe!. He risks his life on numerous occasions for her, and loves her so much, like no-one he has ever loved before!.

He is just so kind, but a contradiction on himself!. He's a vampire who is good, who ignores human blood, who falls in love WITH A HUMAN!.

also, some pyschologists believe there is something sexual about vampires that drives girls crazy!. I dunno lol!.

So all in all, Why do I love Edward Cullen!?

Because he is totally unselfish, willing to anything for Bella and those he loves, and he has a beautiful soul!.

oh, and he plays the piano!. lol
