I need ideas for a war story?

Question: I need ideas for a war story!?

I have to write a war story for english, it has to be less then 5 pages but more then 3!. I don't want to write one with a combat scene, maybe a small one is ok though!. It can be in the past, present, or future!. It needs to have 8 plot events, and a minor character!. It has to be able to show the effects of war on people, family, and government!.

Maybe something not from a soldier's point of view, but from a soldier's family's point of view, would be good for this exercise!. How does his absence affect the family!? Does their income decline!? Was he their "glue"!? Does he get hurt!? If they visit him in the hospital, what are the conditions of the place and how does if affect the family!? Does it make them want to be more proactive in the war effort!? What if he is killed!? Does the family fall apart, or does it bring them together!? Do they want to avenge his death!? What do they do about it!? If he makes it out, how is he treated (by his family and the community) when he comes home!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
