For me it was because I enjoy discussing books, both ones I like and ones I don't, and I wanted to be able to do it properly with an understanding of the whole series!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It's called a guilty pleasure!. Sometimes people watch shows or listen to music or read books that are not "good" by definition, but they still produce feelings that a person enjoys!. Knowing that a movie is of bad quality, with horrible acting and bad dialogue doesn't mean that a person can't connect with the story and say to themselves "I know this is bad, but I still enjoy it at some level" Twilight is a guilty pleasure novel!. The writing is not great, the themes are repetitive and the characters are not deep, but it's sugar-coated with happiness which is why so many people enjoy it without proclaiming love for it!. The biggest thing is the expectation of the final novel to be better literature with a deeper story, and the expectation was not met!. People expected a much different story, which caused a lot of negative feelings!. And, quite often, the way a person feels about the very end of a book or series will affect how they feel about the ENTIRE book or series!. Even if a person loved the first 3 twilight books, their opinion about the 4th might mar their feelings about the first!. Don't take other peoples' opinions too seriously!. It can be pretty well proven that Twilight is not great literature, but outside of that, there is only opinions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I read it because everyone else read it and I wanted to see what was so special!. I actually liked the first one, it was different and although Bella seemed a little too perfect, I kept reading!. Then Breaking Dawn came out and my friend let me borrow her copy because I did not want to buy it!. I read it and I'm glad I did, because I can explain why it was so bad rather then being a person who just refuses to read it!. I mean, talking baby's with mind powers!.!.!.!.Right!. Twilight was different, but just like HP, it dared to go where no one has gone before!. It was like nothing I had read before!. It started getting on my nerves when Bella became a mindless, Edward left me, I must be a failure, boohoo!. I was still able to read it--until 'Nessie' came along and then Jacob goes along and imprints on her, sigh!. Meyer made the series up as she went along, that much should be obvious!. Some people may not mind reading a make-it-up-as-you-go-along story, like all these teen girls that are so desperate to be in the it crowd that they take their friends opinions of the books instead of reading between the lines and seeing that they are reading!.!.!.brain farts!. I think this is a bad book for teen girls to read, a teen gets pregnant with a mutant baby, she just wants to be with Edward forever with nothing she wants to do!. When the book came out suddenly over-emotional fan reaction was everywhere!. Out of the blue, because I'd never even heard of the other three books!. The more I saw about BD the more hilariously bad it looked!. So I read all four in order to understand the hype, and the horror of the writing!. The writing is so simplistic that they are very easy to read anyway, so it didn't take much of my time!. I also like to watch terrible films and shows and heckle them!. If I've never read the last book (Breaking dawn) , I wouldn't have find and see how shallow this series and the author truly and clearly can be!. Breaking dawn was tremendous epic fall!. It was truly the most disappointing and horrendous book I have ever read!. Anyway ,Eclipse was the only decent book in this series!. I believed that maybe the series would get better with the last book!. And that maybe I will have higher opinion after reading the last book!. But , I was wrong!.
